SW Sequel Trilogy lock on Galaxy's Edge is over.... Starting 5/28

I'm super excited for this. Hoping Grogu shows up before the end of June when I go next.

Overall, I always appreciated the idea of Batuu. But, I've always said it would be more exciting if it was treated almost like a world between worlds where characters from any point in SW lore could show up at any time. Maybe we'll finally get there.

It is the #1 reason I got G+ ;) I want to ride multiple times this trip, but waiting in that line multiple time... yikes.

Happy they’re bringing some new characters into SWGE, because it needs more energy. We were there opening weekend, and have gone many times since. It’s beautiful but…it still feels empty and unfinished in comparison to WWOHP, even with ROTR there. I still feel like the soul of the land is missing, for all the reasons mentioned above. They were so busy trying to be unique that they denied us the experiences we’re seeking with popular characters and familiar locations. :( And no show theater back there, really?

Also, I really wish they’d bring back Jedi Training Academy. My kids LOVED it, and there isn’t anything that interactive for young Star Wars fans anymore.

My daughters just loved to watch it - my little one was afraid to participate because she “didn’t want to hurt Vader” (LOL), and my older wasn’t interested in Star Wars until we watched all the movies while stuck at home early in the pandemic. They want to see Vader in action, but it would be nice to see the Rey/ Keylo battles they only roll out for media, too. And Mando is an action hero - such as waste to only have him stroll around! Maybe someday…

About time! In my family's opinion it is a huge mistake to not have all the Star Wars characters there. Now if they could only start playing actual Star Wars music in the land that would be great. They have appropriate background loops in all the other lands, why not there?

I like the sequel trilogy but I think this is smart. My mum loves Grogu/Mandalorian so she is hoping they come to Florida too.

Agreed. I'd love to see a SW CD with music we know and love from all the movies/animated/television series. It would be great to use at SW parties at home.

Yeah, I love the sequels, but I always thought it was a mistake to frame the land into a specific timeline. The "put on" was just way too much. I get immersion, but it's still a theme park. They don't have to pretend that it's not. Had I designed it there would be a spinner right in the middle of it with X-Wings and TIE fighters, and it would be playing Star Wars music everywhere!

This is a case of Disney seeing a cash grab that actually work out for the fans as well. Don't for a second think it was some kind of warm hearted gesture though. That Groku merch is worth too much!
So many folks saying they should have done Tatooine instead of Batuu... I'll be honest, it looks the same to me. Just less sand.

Nah Batuu is definitely a little less"back water cesspool".

Never saw anything OT related in Galaxy's Edge the past few days. Only characters were Rey, Chewie, and R2.

If the idea is a Dumbo style rides for little kids/ride cowards while the older siblings/braver people do Rise of the Resistance, than I love this idea. Especially if you can make the ship go up and down so it's like you're trying to line up a shot against the enemy.

The idea is to make it more like a traditional theme park, a true, "Star Wars Land." In fact, that's what I would have called it. You'd walk in and hear the Star Wars Theme and see lots of attracitons based on all aspects of Star Wars. There wouldn't necessarily have been a story other than for each individual ride. And yeah, having a ride for the littles is important. I'd probably do a basic spinner, with every other ride vehicle being an X-Wing or TIE fighter, then add a blaster button to where if you line up vertically with the car in front of you and shoot you can trigger an effect and their ship will lower for a bit. It's easy and fun! Actually, that might have to be a double spiner, because demand might be pretty high for something like that. 😁
