We purchased EBCI for our family of four the day after SW released their flights for our date and we fly out tomorrow.

We've never flown on SW, but I kind of understand the boarding process. Our boarding letter/numbers are A-50 to A-53.

For anyone with SW experience, does this sound like a good or average boarding position?

Thanks!

It's good. Family boarding starts after A-60 so you are ahead of them.

Funny you should post this. We too purchased EBCI and we have A45-49. I think we've had B coming back from Orlando once or twice. We've always found seats together. I think 1-15 is reserved for people who want to upgrade and elite (or whatever they call them) members so they may or may not be using those spaces.
You'll be fine, and like the pp mentioned, before family boarding which will make a difference. I prefer to be closer to the front of the plane, but my real concern is sitting with one of the kids and having an aisle seat so my bases are covered unless every single person in front of me takes each individual aisle seat:rotfl:

Aren't you flying out of Buffalo today too? Maybe we're on the same flight and you will be right in front of me. :goodvibes

Us too! Just printed our boarding passes and our EBCI on day 1 got us 49, 50, and 51 on our first flight then high 20's on second. Of course I am already anticipating that they will likely be boarding the second plane by the time we get off the first which kind of negates the whole "good number" thing.

Glad to hear that you found seats together as we have a little one with us, hence buying EBCI to begin with. Add in DH [who sometimes can be a bit "difficult" when traveling] and I have to get 3 together or it will be a miserable trip. [No, he would not be content to put DS and I together and go sit somewhere else]

Rule of thumb when flying SWA in regards to the boarding groups A, B, C:

A = Anywhere seats
B = Back of plane seats
C = Center row seats.

I believe last time we flew Southwest, the fight attendant clearly stated that people in "C" group who were loading should look for "C - Center" seats.

We always buy EBCI - ever since a horrible flight from SNA/PDX when we ended up in the very last row of the plane - I had horrible motion sickness on top of the bad seating and it was not a good flight.

the one thing better than group A on today's SW boarding passes

is the magic tag
