sw credit update

so we only have on e choice of a non-stop out of our area...SW from ALbany often will sell out so I booked our airfare for October as soon as available last month...$149 each way...steep I thought

1 week later down to $119 each way...went on line and chose to modify my ticket...chose same flight number, time, date, people...was able to get the credit back on my credit card (have now checked and it is there as a credit)

1 week after that now $69 each way...did the same thing and got another $200 each way credited back to the card...

just wanted everyone to know as I was even told by the SW agent that I would get credit towards future travel, but I was able to get a credit...

it seems that if the fares go lower and you do not change a thing you can get your money back...not future credit

yes, there has been some confusion about this before. If you change flights (date or time) to get the cheaper price, then you can only get a credit for future travel. If you keep rebooking the same flights, you get the credit returned back to your credit card.
This is why we love SWA!!

Do you have to do anything special or is it just automatic? I may make my October ressies now to make sure I get that 1st non-stop flight out!

yes you have to watch for the lower rates then if they come up then enter from the SW home page under change flight...follow through on the choices and DON'T CHANGE SANYTHING except choose the lower air fare (same flight number etc...) then it askes what do you want to do with the balance? credit and refund to credit card....

really? because i talked to sw this afternoon and she said no way will i get a refund because it was an internet purchase and they are non refundable? what should i do????? i'm so confused!! it would save us almost $300.00 to re-book the same exact flight just with the new price!!!!
can someone please advise me as to what to do and how to get it back off my credit card! thanks so much!
