I'm trying to cancel the reservations for one of our party (stepdaughter can no longer make the trip due to health issues) but it looks like I have to cancel the entire party? Is this right?

Give them a call - IIRC they can separate the person no longer flying into their own confirmation number and then you can cancel that itinerary only.

You will get a credit for the $ paid which will remain in that passengers name and can be used for flights within a year of original purchase date.

The above answer is correct. Any airline can split the PNR and put passengers on separate numbers. Do this, then cancel your stepdaughter's ticket.

Thank you, I called and did as recommended. Now to see if I can get the credit switched to a refund or into my name as she will not be able to use it:sad2:

Southwest policy is that the credit must be used within one year of the ticketing date, by the original passenger. No refunds unless you purchased a refundable ticket, or you just bought the ticket 24 hours ago or less.
