SW airlines sky high fares for decmeber: will they come down?

I purchased the SWA airfare for my early June vacation in January (release date was December)

the price was $400.00 RT (SAN - BDL) The price has only gone up (never down) for all dates in June.

I check SWA on a daily basis ... IMO this is the new SWA ... the Good Old Days are Gone :(

i'm wondering what the prices for mid june were from BUF-MCO back then because today my parents got an invitation in the mail for friends that live in ocala who are having a 50th anniversary party in mid june.
at first they thought they would def not go but then i looked up flights on SWA and its only $99 per person per way.

Good to hear some markets (airports) are still having decent prices.

I shall revise my opinion ... my airport (SAN) is no longer included in the lower fares.

The Good Old Days are Gone. Travel from *SAN* without EBCI is too risky with all the planes at or near capacity.

i never get EBCI.
i don't find it to be "too risky" to not have it but i do find it pointless to have it.

and i think you have to consider that you are flying all the way across the country. i don't think $400 rt is really that outrageous.

Revised to make it clear: Travel from my home airport (SAN) without EBCI (SWA)

is too risky (for me) now-a-days with all the planes at or very near capacity.

I believe the size of the city (population) where the airport is located is a factor

for whether or not to purchase EBCI ... along with the likely possibility the plane is sold out.

I can usually tell with JetBlue when my fares might go down by clicking on the available seats to see how full/empty the plane is. Sure enough, the price usually drops when they see they need to fill the plane. However, being that I can't see how full the planes are on Southwest site, it's such a gamble to know if the prices will go down, up, or stay the same. I had been waiting to book our flight home for the July 4 week (MCO-BUF) and the fare finally dropped on Friday morning (5/15/15) so I snagged it. I checked again yesterday and today and it has risen again. I'm going to keep checking -- I have a feeling they still need to fill seats so it may drop again. We don't usually travel in December so I don't really know for sure about those fares, but we travel during Easter and the fares always fluctuate. I think they go down until someone buys, then they go back up. Then the pattern keeps repeating until the plane is almost full.

The price dropped a bit from MKE-MCO on 1/3, but one flight is already SOLD OUT. Yikes.
