SW Air - Why no Wanna Get Away Fares Available? (Not sold out)

Well, thats making me feel a little better, i'm just freaking out because i really want to leave on Sunday, May 11 from HOU to MCO, and not Monday, because if they never change the fares, i just cant see spending that much money for a one way ticket ($250).... i will just wait... :headache:

It seems like the people who book early are punished by higher fares! I just hate to be stressed out worried that we won't get a flight if I wait till the last minute, but those are always the amazing fares.

We traveled on a Saturday and a Sunday in early December and I booked our fares on SW the day they were released. We never got a ding fare for either flight (weekday ones came through but none for the weekend) and starting the NEXT day I watched the fares get higher and higher.

SO... there is something to be said for buying the first day and then sitting on them.

I purchased our July fares yesterday just minutes after they were released. They are still available at the same prices today, but based on my experience booking our December trip I didn't want to take any chances. I'm hoping that since our flights are on a Friday morning and a Tuesday that we will get lower ding fares for them, but I'm okay w/ the price they were purchased at if not. They were definitely the least expensive option that I've seen so far and I've been tracking them for about 2 months now!

They opened up the couple of days I was looking for for wanna get away fares today!

Same here. They opened up 6/5/08 from Philly. Just canceled the ones I bought two days ago (business) and puchased the $99 tix. Business tickets are fully refundable, so it worked out great.

Ours came up too for 5/15. We opted to keep the tickets for 5/16 and stay the extra night. :rotfl:

The departure date I was looking for out of PHL to FLL came through as well. :yay:

Good things come to those who wait. :flower3:
