Ok I just wanted to tell you that I put my figures in again today(I was trying to help someone out) and yesterday the rate was 90 and today it came up 79 Yikes I am :Pinkbounc Check yours.
Waaa - mine didn't drop. That's okay though...I'm :sunny: for you!

I think the prepay is done when you make the ressie...if you tried to do it on an existing ressie closer to your travel dates and the cost is up...they will probably charge you the added amount. PLUS - they use a contract code for that so it wouldn't be in addition to the 10% you already have off using the Walmart code...does that make sense???

What are your rental dates???

Thanks , I signed up too for the Quick thing but not sure how it worked. do you know anything about the prepay 10% discount? Did I have to do that when I made reservation or can I do it the week before I leave....sorry for all the questions.Did not want to get to the garage and find out there is a problem with coupon(I have printed it). DH isn't too into all this coupon deal stuff, thats my job and I try to get all the questions answered. We are getting the car to go to Vero for a few days before back to WDW for real vacation so needed the car for the beginning of the vacation. Thanks for trying to help I really appreciate it. Carol :goodvibes
Your DH and mine are exactly alike! I get so excited when prices drop and I rush to tell him and he's like "Yeah, that's nice...so anyway...". :lmao:

My rental dates are OCT 22 to 25 only need for 3 days. Its so strange how it works....I could only get that rate using the BY 430710 and the coupon D24C. I so far haven't gotten that rate with other code. But I will keep trying. I'm getting nervous. I cancelled the other rate and will bring that too. If I have the confirmation and my printed coupon I hope I should be ok. I just don't want them hastling him. Yikes. No way to start a vacation. I have rented before but can't remember if I mixed codes and coupons. I think I have. I wish someone knew. But thrilled with the 79 , hey I was happy with the 90 since when I first started looking it was 120 I think for a compact. :goodvibes When are your dates?

I think a lot of people here on the boards have mixed the codes too...so I don't think it will be a problem. Our dates are Oct. 16-26...so we will be there at the same time! I'm actually renting a car for the whole trip since it was easier for us to haul the stroller in a car our last trip than haul it onto the bus...plus we just had to walk to the car when we were done and not wait for buses. Made it nicer with a tired kid...

Yes I know about strollers and kids. When we go with our DD and family(3 boys ) it easier too have the car ...although for us old folkes we like bus. We will be at WDW 10/25 thru 11/8 at BWV, we also like the walk to Epcot or MGM. Keep checking and watch for your dates too. Thanks for posting and getting me motivated again to check for a better rate. Carol :goodvibes

If I notice rates dropping again I will check yours too...unless you beat me to it! Good luck!

Unlike National (where you can stack any code, etc.)...

Alamo's stance if you call customer services is NO: :confused3 .

However, we've been able to mix & match for several years w/o any problem, usually try to match the contract id & coupon, then throw on whatever code crops up later... especially think they're ok w/it if you use QS.

I've heard they have pretty cruddy customer service...that's half the reason I'm thinking of going to National even tho my current ressie is $10 more there than Alamo. If the difference goes over $30 then I will go with whomever is lower...

Honestly, other than the EA program @ National, they're about the same in my book. Of course, I'd never stand in Alamo's line in the terminal again.

Think they were actually better in June than the last Dec & the last several years...employees actually smiled:banana: .

Our biggest complaint is the lack of cars on either EA or the mid-size SUV category w/QS - Alamo & Nat...we've gotten stuck with a PT Cruiser (certainly not a SUV) and nothing but a lone Saturn on the lot.

Not sure if it's because we come in after noon on weekends & everything's been picked over but, it's starting to worry me that sooner or later they won't have any vehicle for us despite our ressie.

I wonder what they would do for you then? Do you have a preferred rental company? I've used Dollar our past two trips and was happy with them....just happy. I've had long waits when there was no one else there, but they've been okay. They do pressure you to buy the supp insurance though. Unfortunately their rates are just not low enough for me yet. Close, but about $40 more...

I'd pick Avis, unfortunately...I can't afford their stellar customer service.

Even though they're "sister" companies, I'd pick National if only for their EA service that avoids any need to stop @ a counter for the time factor.

When we only found a PT Cruiser on the Alamo SUV aisle, I was floored. Good thing we only had 3 people in our party, as it was youngest DS had to sit squished w/luggage in back seat since the trunk only held 1 of our large suitcases sitting on it's side (if we wanted to see out the rear window).

I complained & was told to be lucky we got anything @ all since they were so busy gearing up for the President's day rush:rolleyes1 We did get a small adjustment on CC when I contacted them.

We switched to National for a few years but, their astronomical rates sent us back for more of Alamo's abuse LOL.

Can't remember reading any posts here about a person not getting any car, think if it happened with any frequency we would. At the very least, think the rental company would make arrangements w/another agency as a good-will gesture or call a cab?

I got Avis on Priceline for a 1 day rental. We needed a car to pickup from our home airport, load up and drop off when we leave for our trip...no one in my family drives a car big enough for the four of us and all our luggage, and I wasn't thrilled with the idea of leaving our Trailblazer sitting at the airport for 11 days. I'm glad to hear I'll be happy with them! I will have to keep trying priceline and hope Avis picks up my offer then...thanks for all the information!
