I'm trying to understand how these two restaurants are related with respect to ordering sushi.

Can we get reservations at Kona, and have some in our party order from the Kona Island Sushi Bar menu? Or do we have to sit at the Sushi Bar and have some in the party order from the Kona menu? Does it matter?

Thanks - I'm trying to get this sorted out - no dining plan is involved in these plans! :)

I have been a few times to the Kona Island Sushi Bar and here is what happens. Over there they don't take any ADR's so if there are some seats available at the Sushi Bar or the table facing the Monorail station you can sit right down, then a server will bring you a Sushi menu and the Kona Cafe menu. So besides just ordering Sushi over there you can also order off the Kona Cafe menu if you want to.

We had dinner at Kona last week and my daughter had sushi as an appetizer. They bring you the sushi bar menu as well as the Kona menu and just put everything on one check. DD said the sushi was excellent. She also said the sushi at Capt Cooks was excellent.

Absolutely yes, both times we've eaten at Kona, they've asked us if we needed any sushi menus as they were seating us. I've never had their sushi, but it looked good on other people's tables. :)

Sushi was very expensive, and I had NO idea how to order, and everyone else that was there was confused also, thanks for clearing it up!:thumbsup2
