Hi, everybody. I am feeling a little better and moving a bit better today. My pain today is about a 6, so a little better than yesterday. I see the chiropractor this evening, so here's hoping it goes as well as Monday's adjustments did.
Tracy - Yes, the ice helps a lot. I still have a lot of swelling, but it helps the pain and keeps the inflammation from getting any worse.
Beth - Thank you for reading my journal and for the compliment. I don't know about being amazing, but I don't give up easily - that stubborn streak runs in the family! It is frustrating to have to let others do what I normally do, but I am trying not to sweat it - as long as the necessary stuff gets done, it's all good.
Stacy - Yes, I am looking forward to going to WDW. I think I have finally come to terms with the fact that this trip will be low-key for me, and now I am just looking forward to the break and being with family.
BigMama - Thanks for checking on me. I am a little better today, so I am cautiously optimistic that the pain will slowly get better.
We have two vehicles for my husband and myself - a minivan and a Pontiac Grand Am. Since gas prices got so high, we drive the Grand Am pretty much all the time because it gets better gas mileage and we very seldom use the van. We had a minor issue with the Grand Am yesterday evening, so my DH asked me to drive the van to the park and ride lot this morning to catch the bus until he can get what he needs to fix it. One of the activities that has been so agonizing for me since this back problem began is getting out of the car. Since the Grand Am is low to the ground, I have to haul myself up and straighten myself out at the same time - not fun when your back is tied up in knots. So this morning, I get in the van - and it is not NEARLY as painful as getting in the Grand Am. The van is higher off the ground and has more room to get in and out. WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT LAST WEEK????? I would have saved myself so much pain. So, anyway, now that I have discovered this, I asked my DH if we can drive the van to WDW. It will take more gas, but it will be so much easier on me. He said it wouldn't take that much more gas and if it was less painful for me, it was the thing to do. So maybe that will help with the ride down and back - it can't hurt.
Will check in again tomorrow and let all of you know how my back doc's visit went today. Thanks so much for your concern and compassion - have a good one!
