What can you tell me about this? I need as many details as possible, thinking of doing this next year.

TIA!

My best friend has done the Avon walk. In fact, she did it this weekend. I'm pretty sure that it's 36 miles over 2 days. She did it last year also and said it is an amzing experience. last year she slept in the tents that they provide, this year she got herself a hotel room:thumbsup2 She did it all alone and said it was so empowering and wonderful. She had to raise $1800. That is the only reason that I didn't do it with her, I hate asking for money and most of my friends are poor like me, lol!!

I am following a friend from college on Facebook who did it this weekend and it seems like an amazing experience. Sorry I can't give you anymore details than that, but I say go fo it!

All I know about the 3 day is that it's 60 miles in 3 days, tents and you have to raise about $2300. Would love some more info!

I know someone, that is a poster here, that is finishing her 3rd day today. She's been posting updates through Facebook. It's an amazing thing she is doing and I'm pretty darn proud of her. I'll let her know you are asking about it and hopefully she'll come share her story.

My teaching partner did the 3 day this year and the past couple as well. The hardest part is raising the $2300. She hosts a dance fundraiser to help with the money part. She also loses a toenail or two afterwards but says it's worth it. She has great stories though and would encourage anyone to go for it.

I have a friend doing the 3 day walk. In fact she finished it today. Yes she did have to raise something like $2300 and she did a bunch of fundraising. Though I know her employer matched some. She also had to name her team even though in the end just her walked. I am so proud of her.

I think I might be talking about the same person Phors is talking about.

I had some friends that did this last year and it seems like they were always doing some sort of fundraiser for it. I was always getting emails about bunco nights, etc. I guess they enjoyed it, but have decided not to do it again.

My advice would be to look into how Komen distributes the money and what they do with it before putting in the time and effort. If they seem worthy to you, then go for it. Personally, I put my time and effort into lesser known charities and diseases because need the help so much more.

Yes, I know her as well! I'm so excited to hear how it was for her!! She's inspired me to do this next year! Loving her updates on Facebook!

I thought it strange that you had to come up with the money before you can do the walk. My daughter and I looked into it, and after reading the materials, decided not to do it. I can't raise that kind of money.
