I don't think they've always gone by prior votes tho when there's a tie, so counting on that is not necessarily a good thing. Didn't they do something with different colored rocks or something like that on a prior Survivor series?? Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Cuz I'm not sure I do!

MaryAnn, I do vaguely remember them breaking a tie by picking rocks out of a bag or something like that. Wasn't it the one with Roger?

Yeah, but I think THOSE kind of tie breakers are if the two people have the same number of prior votes, resulting in a tie-breaker for the tie-breaker.

The tie breaker with the colored rocks was on Survivor: Marquesas. They were down to four people. There were four rocks in a bag--3 white and 1 black. The person who drew the black rock was out. It was Paschal (Pappy) who drew the black rock.

That's what I was thinking! No way our little Jenna could have thought up that plan unless she had some help .

As far as Rob's comment that "any of us would have done the same" when Matt gave up his visit that is just crap. Jenna and Heidi would have never ever given up their chance to see their family for the sake of the others. Did you all notice how the waterworks were turned on when Matt was given the offer? Those two are such manipulators!

Poor Christy. Yes, she should have kept her mouth shut but I can see where she was just so happy to be important finally, she said too much. I watched her this morning and she still seems to have hard feelings over how it played out (who could blame her). I can only hope that the stick twins get theirs in the end.

Even though Rob is playing great, I still think that Matt is playing better than portrayed.

My mom kept the CBS predictions that were in the Dallas Morning News when this Survivor began and I thought that I would pass on the predictions for the final six.

Christi - if she will adapt to her surroundings and follow what's going on, she'll make it to the final four and could win.

Matt - with so many accomplishments he has a high potential for getting on people's nerves especially if he boasts. He'll be voted off very early or very late.

Butch - if he can find a group to lead quietly he could be there near the end.

Heidi - if she lies low and works hard, she'll get past the merger.

Rob - though he is entertaining in an interview, he'll be annoying in the jungle and may be first to go.

Jenna - there is something odd about her you can't put your finger on. Will her fellow contestants be creeped out too?

It also predicted that Dave and Alex would be in the final four with Shanna winning it all.

Thought that it was interesting.

Right now I am pulling for Matt or Butch. I could also handle Rob winning it as him over the twigs would be the lesser of three evils. If a twig wins it, after how good this season has been, there will probably be rioting in the streets at the unfairness of it all. That would be the worst outcome possible IMHO.

Umm....I DO remember that. What were the circumstances behind that? Was there a voting tie and they resorted immediately to this? Or was it after previous votes resulted in a tie again. I seem to remember thinking that Pappy got screwed when this happened....I mean above and beyond him just losing a draw of luck.

I'm just thinking about what Jenna or Heidi's comments would be if either one of them should (pardon me as I vomit) win. It would make me even sicker to hear about their strategy and how well they played the game. Excuse me again, I must go to be sick.

so who do you think will be next off. If we are left with the twigs, butch, rob and matt don't you think the three guys have to take one of the girls out next. If they vote off nice guy Butch then you are left with 2 guys against the twigs who will not vote for each other and thereby automatically get thenselves into the final 3 and then they are at the mercy of the last immunity challenge...

if they break off a twig next week and leave it with 3 guys and a girl they all will be masterminding how to get themselves to the final 3. i could see rob working with matt to whittle the remainder off...perhaps that it why we did not see any conversations between matt and rob last night...

I found this on the CBS website concerning the circumstances of the tie on Survivor: Marquesas:


After the vote, Jeff revealed that a tie had indeed occurred -- two votes against Neleh and two votes against Kathy. He then explained that the Final Four would have two minutes to reach a majority consensus whether Neleh or Kathy should be voted out of the tribe and that, if they failed to, all of them except Vecepia, who had Immunity, would have to pick colored rocks out of a sack. The person to pick the only purple rock out of the bag would have to leave the tribe.



Ok, so the rock was purple, not black.....black seems to make more sense though.

wdwoldtimer, I remember the tie was between Neleh & somebody. Either Kathy or Vecepia. Pascal wasn't in any danger of getting voted out but when it came to a tie everyone had to draw out of the bag and he's the one that ended up going.

At the beginning of last night's show when they showed clips from the week before and Heidi made her comment about Jenna's mom saying "the brain tumor has shrunk by 50%" we were laughing at our house saying we were surprised she didn't follow up by saying "that's almost half!"

I don't know why everyone is being so hard on Jenna & Heidi. Didn't you hear last night at tribal counsel how they have had to work so much harder than everyone else because they are so beautiful???

I wonder if Matt is going to be fed up with Rob after realizing he was left out of the loop on the voting last night and that Rob had switched alliances again.

Matt was in the loop, they just didn't show any secret conversations with Matt and Rob. The vote was 4-2. Matt, Rob, Heidi, Jenna for Christie and Christie and Butch for Jenna.

Just out of curiosity I replayed my tape of last night's episode from the end of the immunity challenge on. Did anyone notice the expression on Heidi's and Rob's face when Jenna knocked them out of the way?

Also, Heidi apparently knew that Jenna would give her the immunity necklace but Rob didn't. I think from the look on his face he had brief thoughts of a secret alliance that was voting him off.

Matt kept his head down when Christi walked by but Rob had a grin on his face. Then both Heidi and Rob were grinning after she left.

Don't you think that Heidi has thoughts that Jenna will eventually do her in given the chance even though they have an alliance?

And the look Alex and Deena gave each other when Christi started opening mouth and inserting foot. But I think that Christi was gone no matter what she said. It was the noncommittment to Rob that did her in. But like she said on the Early Show, she didn't know at that time who she would vote for and she's not one to lie and be a snake.
