Survivor 23--South Pacific--No Spoilers**Wed 9/14**

I have a different take on Ozzy going to redemption island. I think he is done and wants out. If by chance he changes his mind before the competition then he'll go for it, but I believe he is so sick of his tribe that he just needed out of there.

Hmmm, I never thought about this angle. You might be right. Ozzy's older now, and maybe he "forgot" how tough Survivor really is, both mentally and physically. He's been throwing temper tantrums so often this season - that's not something you do if you want to be a leader and have an iron-clad alliance. I couldn't believe him after they lost that challenge last night!

Ooooorrrrrr....the producers could have offered him a deal so that it adds a huge 'twist' to the season. The way Jeff kept going on and on about how if it backfires he will be forever known as the player that makes the dumbest move (or something to that effect). Think of the ratings boost this could give for next week show. Everyone wants to tune in to see what happens.

:scratchin: Just a thought.

I actually don't think this is it. In a pre-game interview, Ozzy had this idea. Before he knew his tribe members. Here it is: http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/09/07/survivor-south-pacific-ozzy-lusth-redemption-island/

That being said I think what Ozzy did is stupid. He is good at fishing, swimming and strong competitor but his strategy is lacking. A lot. I know Keith and Jim especially didn't want to vote him out. It is a risky move. And honestly Cochrane deserves to be voted out. He's been a coaster for, well, forever. He seems like a nice guy and he does entertaining little confessionals but otherwise -- he is horrible at puzzles (he's admitted this in a previous confessional), he is completely lacking in any physical way to help in the challenges, and in fact, it can be argued that he lost the challenge for the team yesterday. I know it's a team problem, but really. His sole job appeared to be making sure the ropes were good to go. And he couldn't do that. Christine is a TOUGH competitor -- Mikayla who was tough couldn't beat her -- and what if it's some sort of balancing challenge that women tend to be good at? Ozzy could be screwed.

Plus, something that Ozzy and his tribe didn't seem to think of is that there is no way Christine will join her old tribe. She hates them! She doesn't trust them, and really why would she She seems like a smart enough woman to know that they can't be trusted, yet she she would have to allign herself with someone though. I can see her befriending Dawn or Whitney on Ozzy's tribe. She would much rather stick with Ozzy's tribe than Coach's. It's funny because Ozzy and company considered her to be a threat to allign with her old tribe but I really don't see that at all.

I thought this too - I am not sure why the Savaii tribe doesn't realize it, since so many of them have been there for each Redemption Island challenge and have seen and heard how she talks to/about her old tribe. She has tried to make it more than obvious that as soon as she gets back in she will be flipping, even if it is just to spite Upolu.

Benjamin is turning the prayer thing into a joke. What he did yesterday was insulting. Praying to find the idol when he already had it? Wow. Karma is gonna get him good!

Ozzie is an idiot. Just a total fool!

We used rewind to double check and Coach never prayed to find the idol, he just said that they needed a win.
I didn't say Coach specifically prayed to find the idol but he led them to believe that finding the idol was a direct result of their prayers.

Uh, I am watching online now. Seems to me that Coach is making a joke of this praying stuff. I work for my church, I am a Christian. This is stupid.
Totally agree.

As I said to DD17 last night, it just goes to show how easily religion can be used to deceive less-informed people.

Coach had the idol, he knew he had it, and he is a shrewd enough judge of character to realize this time around that the way to become very very popular with his tribe is the religion angle. Now I am not saying that Coach isn't a pious, religious guy, he probably is; but he analyzed Brandon and the others and saw how VERY much religion affected them. So he, in a position of knowledge ("I have the idol") used prayer to convince everyone else that the Lord was working miracles for them ("Look, we prayed about it and not 5 minutes later the idol mysteriously appears!") and POOF now the tribe is all united and happy-happy and Coach is The Leader.
Very well said.

Brandon subconciously knows that the idol had already been found last week when he looked and looked for it and couldn't find it. He even mentioned the idea to Coach who, of course, no, he didn't think so in so many words. If Brandon, Edna or Cowboy will just give it some thought, they'll realize that Coach has been playing them. But I don't know if they'll be persistant or smart enough to do that.

He didn't share it. They received another idol and he mislead them again by pretending they found the original one.
There's not two idols in play on Coach's team as far as I know.

Cristine is very strong. While Coach was right to get rid of her, it may come back to bite him in the rear. Her biggest mistake was in telling Coach from the beginning that he wouldn't be their long or something like that. I can't remember the words. Her team aligned with Coach from the get go and she did not have a chance.

I've never been on the Ozzy train and think it would be fun to see him get beat by Christine.

Christine mentioned that she saw how long Matt lasted in RI. Does it seem that they are playing up her wins and strength more than they did Matt?

If the merge comes as predicted and Christine is at the merge, wonder how long she will last?

If she does get voted off right away like they did Matt then I would love for Survivor to bring them both back in the next season.

Agree on both counts. What bothered me more about Coach was the way in which he forced his team to their knees to pray after they won the challenge.

Totally agree. If I were on his team and he tried to pull that cr@p with me, all it would get him is a swift kick to the soft parts. You do NOT force someone to take part in a religious ritual if they are not inclined to do so.

Exactly. Which is why I lost all respect for Sophie. She saw what Benjamin was doing with the prayer thing. But I noticed she dropped to her knees to allow him to pray for her. I've been on the fence for the last 2 weeks, but now I'm strictly team red!

I can't wait for someone to spill the beans to Brandon that Coach had the idol the whole time before it magically appeared, as a result of prayer. Hopefully it will be enough for him (and those that didn't know Coach had it) to see right through him and how he is using God to play them.

I must not have been paying enough attention. I thought it was weird. So he pulled out the original idol he had already found. Got it.

I'm a Christian and I totally agree with this as well. Also to me it is ridiculous to be praying about something like this. This is a GAME.

Pardon? There weren't two Idols on their beach. He told Brandon and the others that he had just found the idol (the one he had all along) after BRANDON prayed to find the idol.

All I"M saying is that the prayer worked. Brandon prayed to find the idol, and Coach seized that as an opportunity to bring out the idol (pretending he had just found it of course, and yes preying on everyone's emotions). So yeah, IMO Brandon's prayers were answered.

Coach's prayer's were answered when his team won the immunity challenge.

I would love to see Matt back again:thumbsup2

As far as Matt goes...I think after last season and this season, they want to shy away from all the religious stuff.

Also, if they continue to bring two people back, I'd bet next time will be two females. Two names that immedaitely come to mind are Amanda and Stephanie.

Well, a lot of the religious stuff can be easily edited out. They are just choosing not too.

They already brought these two back. They competed against each other on Heroes vs Villains.

Brandon's prayers were answered but not really by God but by coach messing with his and others head. I am also christian and what he did was wrong. I do see your point that Brandon's prayer was answered just really not by God/Jesus the Holy Spirit etc but by a deceitful man out to win at any cost including acting like a crocked tv minister. sad really
