Surviving Disney & the 1/2 Marathon (Jan 09) - Our 1st Trip Report!

My first 1/2 was at Disneyland and it was so much fun. I love stopping to say hi to all the characters:goodvibes My second 1/2 was the Baltimore and it was full of hills:scared1: My DH warned me, but I thought I was tough enough. It was hard! My tentative plan is to do the 2010 1/2 and then the full in 2011 and then the Goofy in 2012 on my 40th bday:cool1: Of course we'll see. Definitely doing the half this year and am pretty confident I'm going to do the full in 2011. I just want to do a full at least once in my life. The Goofy we'll have to see how 2011 goes:laughing:
Have you read the book Marathoning for Mortals? I highly recommend it. It encourages regular walking breaks. It makes it easier to keep your heart rate down and energy level up throughout the race.
Really enjoyed your TR.:thumbsup2

We had the same plan! 1/2 last year, full next, goofy next. But the full didn't work with our plans for the cruise since the Magic leaves on Saturdays. ;) So, it's the 1/2 again, but I'd definitely like to try the full after that, provided I do a little better with the training next time.

If you did the disneyland 1/2, I think there's a medal if you do that one plus the disneyworld one. You should try that after the goofy!

I'll definitely look up that book! Thanks for the recommendation.
