Surprised to still see so many FP+ threads

I went to WDW with my dh last December and used MB and FP+ for the first time. We were so delighted! I am a DVC owner and usually go to WDW 4 or 5 times a year and loved the old legacy FP. I could not at first see why the magic bands would be any different or better than our old room cards with room charge shopping privileges on them. I now understand!

The bands worked great getting into the parks - were fast and easy. The FP+ was terrific. I actually rode TSM for the first time in years without having to get to the park at rope drop to get a FP. HS has always been a half day park for me and trying to get a FP when arriving after 11 was a no go, so this was terrific. I also felt the time you had to wait to get on a FP+ ride was short. Without people stockpiling FPs there were more to go around. I liked being able to change the FP+ if I needed to do so instead of just throwing or giving one away.

I thought for sure when I came back on the boards to begin planning for my May Flower and Garden Trip that the noise would have quieted down as more and more people had good experiences. I was shocked to see how many threads were still going strong complaining about the bands and FP+. I was also disappointed about how many threads there were just for venting and complaining. These boards used to be a fun place to ask questions and connect with other WDW loving folks. Now it seemed more alike a place for those unhappy with the place to complain.

Any suggestions about where to go online to connect with people who love Disney?

Right here! People here love Disney; what they don't love… or maybe I should say don't understand… is why Disney changed a system that worked so well for people who were willing to read and follow what was printed on the fastpass. Is it really so hard to understand why some people are disappointed in having to reduce their park experience, plan so far in advance, choose between which headliners and which parks they want to spend their days enjoying, and spend more and more time waiting in long standby lines?

I love going to Disney, but with the increased prices and reduced value (IMO) I just don't know how much I am going to love being there anymore. It makes me angry, it makes me sad… but it doesn't mean I don't love Disney. I just am not blind to the effects their changes are going to have on my vacation.

You're surprised at all the threads about FP+, so you come and start.............a thread about FP+. Okay then.

If I didn't love Disney, my post count would be about 256.

It is BECAUSE I DO love Disney that I am so very disappointed with the current state of so-called "FastPass Plus."

Couldn't have said it better myself!

I think that the reason why there is so many is because FP+ and Magic bands are the new park addition. There are few posts of people who love it too.

But while it worked well for you it hasn't worked well for others.

So you are hitting threads of people who tried it and liked it and the people who try it and think it needs to be improved. Both sides love Disney.

Well, it hasn't worked for me so far! My 60 day window was Thursday, and I got one
day planned. When I went back in the next day, they had added my AP magic band,
and now I can't plan ANY days! So yes, there are still FP+ threads, and people who
can't even get it to work.....sigh.

40% of the Dis Unplugged listeners believe FP+ has or will adversely effect their touring while 32% are taking a wait and see attitude. As you can clearly see that doesn't leave much room for FP+ love. No wonder it's a popular topic. Most people need to lower their expectations to get the most from FP+.

It just occurred to me that one of the reasons FP+ didn't bother me was that I used both FP+ and pulled legacy FP while I was there... That had totally slipped my mind. It is going to be different this time. It looks like I will still need to be there at rope drop if I want to ride anything more than once.
