Surprised that OKW Near HH studios already taken...

So I decided on Friday to book a studio for January 24 to 31, 2024...no big holidays, events or anything. Now it doesn't have a major impact on my trip, as the person I'm traveling with this trip is fully ambulatory and doesn't have issues walking...but I was surprised all the near HH studios at OKW were already gone, just 7 days into the 11 month booking window. Seems unusual for OKW, without a big event. And I usually don't book too many studios, I usually do 1 bedrooms, but for just two of us, i figured it would be nice for each of us to have our own real queen bed.

Does anyone know if there is an event going on that I'm not aware of, other than just (usually) a nice time of year to travel?

OKW near HH has moved up in popularity ahead of SSR and AK - it is sometimes even easier to book BLT lake view. That point chart is very desirable. I am surprised that the rental site has not upped it to a 18 a point vs 16.

But ahead of everything other than Value and Concierge studios at AKV and standard view studios at BLT? A week after the 11 month window for late January?

DVC is known for having online inventory incorrect too.

There are a few days missing here or there. There are a limited number of rooms. I would book what you can and waitlist the rest.

Like I said, it doesn't really matter for this trip. I'm OK with non-HH. I was just surprised to see them all booked, I usually get 1 bedrooms, and don't get near-HH, so I can get the second entry door to the bathroom.

Yes, I also agree. I've been at WDW about that time for the last 2 years, and although I've enjoyed that time, one reason is that not too many other people enjoy it.

I was there this year during that time too. Stayed into Feb when it got busier but the end of January was great. (Shhhhhh - don't tell anyone! lol)

For whatever reason our school has the extra day off a week late next year instead of on MLK. Not sure why but possibly other schools are like that and you see a small uptick in people traveling then because of that.

We are planning taking a year off from WDW likely next year though.
