This is the strangest complaint I have heard about DW. Rides are meant to be enjoyed! I’m not even sure why people want pics of themselves on rides - it has zero appeal to me personally.

While we are at it asking for the outrageous requests. If I sit with my hands neatly folded in my lap I will then expect that those in my same ride vehicle won't be making hand signs, weird faces or holding props towards the camera to ruin my once in a lifetime photo.

TBH I'm not surprised.
Many people have the mentality that its "their" ride photo.
Unless I'm in the back I try not to put my hands too high so I don't block people's faces.
If I'm in the front of TOT my hands don't go higher than my shoulders.
If in the front on Splash I put my hands up and to one side or I do something funny instead.

I'm surprised at the amount of people who want to curtail my enjoyment of a ride by their desire to have a ride photo.

Actually nope that's not how I took what OP is doing.
Seems like OP simply wants EVERYONE to be able to purchase the ride photo if they want to vs not being able to because someone's hand is in front of their face.
I find it extremely rude when people pay no mind to anyone else on the attraction.
Just as making an obscene gesture would ruin a photo for others.
I am mindful of others while having fun and putting my arms up.
What makes someone else so special that they can put their hand in front of my face?
Its funny how some of the same people that say OP is requesting too much are also the people that complain about a small child on a parent's shoulders during a parade because they are waaaaay too short to see over full grown adults that stand in front of them.
At a parade or fireworks show you can very very easily move your head just a bit to see around them. In a ride or theater you can't.

Most people, and certainly first-timers, have zero clue if or when their photo is going to be taken on a ride. It took more than several rides on the photo rides for us to even figure out where the cameras were. I am not "guilty" of the hand-throwing crime as I'm typically white-knuckling any bar that has been provided for me to cling to, however, throwing one's hands in the air is a natural and common reaction when experiencing a ride drop. As others have suggested, if the ride photo is that important to you, ask for the front row. Even then, you can't control the reactions or faces others will make on the ride.

I think this is apples and oranges. When watching a parade or fireworks, everyone's focus is on the parade and fireworks and people with others' on their shoulders know darn well they are blocking others' views. I really don't think many people know their photos will be taken on many of these rides nor do they know where cameras are placed. I really think a very small percentage of people are deliberately trying to block others faces when raising their arms on a ride. I really think it's the difference between blocking someone's view and not caring (parades and fireworks) vs. blocking someone's face in a photo and not knowing you are doing it (because they don't know a photo will be taken).

Oh my god. I'm not even thinking about a ride photo. It's always been a thing with coasters to put your hands up. Do you really not know that?

A ride is meant to be enjoyed. Whether that be sitting perfectly still and screaming silently, or howling and waving around like a mad man. The ride wasn't built so people could have a photo taken.

And believe me, I went with 3 people last time who had no idea their pictures would be taken.

Do yourself a favor and take a look at my avatar, if you see us, don't sit behind us on a coaster or you may find us annoying! Also, not sure why you would be so special that others can't enjoy themselves on roller coaster!!!
