SURPRISE!.......You forgot the WHAT!? A November 1st-11th 2012 TR* BIG UPDATE!!2/3

Hi Carey! I got Bryan to agree to a summer WDW trip this morning!!

While I am still hoping to rent DVC and stay at the BCV or BLT, my husband has decided that we MUST stay at AoA. He makes a good point saying that we have little time left to really 'wow' Maddie with this resort. I am nervous since we've never stayed value before. Can you tell me how the one bus stop worked out, and how long the bus rides took? Also, how long was the walk to the food court/bus stops from the LM section? Do you think it's something a 6 year old could handle?

Also, how was the pool? I had planned a pool day when I was hoping for BCV since SAB looks AMAZING, but now I'm wondering if the pools at AoA would be better for mid-day and late night swims. If so, maybe I should plan a water park morning? Have you ever done one of the water parks with Kadence?

I think that the resort looks amazing, and we really don't spend a ton of time at the resorts so I'm coming around to the value part of the stay. I'm hoping that you'll set my mind at ease. ;)

Sorry to ask so many questions, but I'm eager to start planning and plotting for a July trip!!!!

Love the update and all of the AoA pics! I am trying to talk DH into adding a night there after our cruise in March, but I am not winning so far! I will definitely have to go see it though!!

Subbed in a little late, but I've just caught myself up. Loving all of your AoA pictures! Cannot wait to hear about both parties- what good planning to attend both. So happy to hear they sorted out your ticket mishap too!

I can help a little bit. I stayed at both BCV and AoA on this trip (I am her friend Jen that she is going to meet up with at the party). Both had LONG walks. In fact I was NOT impressed with BCV at all. We had an extremely long walk to our room. The decor is just blah. The pool is awesome, but from the villas, it's quote a walk and we only used it one night. We never had a chance to use the slide. now if we stayed there longer, we might've had more time to use the pool. I would say Aoa and the BCV rooms were equally as far from the main building. The buses at AoA were 100 times better than Beach Club too. WoW they have awful buses. They take forever and they make several stops at other resorts. I think all the Deluxes have bad bus service though, with probably the excpetion of AKL, which doesn't have to share with other resorts.

The good thing about BCV is that you are very close to Epcot. That walk isn't to obad. Also close to DHS, but the friendship boats are slow going and make lots of stops as well. We usually walked to DHS and beat the boat every time. But it's not a short walk. If you are going to do more resort time than park time, I think BCV is great, but when you want to go to the parks a lot, there is a lot of travel time. I guess I am spoiled because we normally stayed at Pop, which has the best buses, and I felt AoA was just about as good in the bus Dept.

Yay for getting the ticket "situation" fixed! I'm sure that was quite a load off your minds. Kadence is so cute posing all around the resort. If she doesn't turn out to be a model, I'll be a monkey's uncle. Aunt. Monkey's aunt. :lmao:

Art of Animation looks so cute! I am going to try and convince the family that we need to do a resort tour day and visit various resorts. Maybe I can put AoA on the list to visit.

Thank you so much! Hi Jen!:wave2: Nice to meet you!

That really does help. I never really thought about how far from the bus stop the rooms are at BCV. I was pretty focused on the walk to Epcot. :rotfl: We've stayed at the BWI (but that was about 8 years ago) so I knew that the walk to DHS was pretty rough and that the boats are mindnumbingly slow. You make really good points.

We will be in the parks most of the time. Last trip I planned a resort day, and everyone wanted to go to the parks. :rotfl: Have you done the water parks? Is a half day at one enough? I'm not ready to give up a whole day to one.

I think you've helped make my husband's case. Looks like we'll be booking AoA! And here I thought I was picking the Beach Club for him.:rotfl:

AMEN!!!

OK, back to more reading. :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

boy I miss being there. We just did not have enough time at all!

I can't wait to meet you...or wait, that happened already. :lmao: I mean read about the meet up!

Right now I want to be there so bad. 11 days wasn't even enough!

:lmao: We'll meet soon! But then again, you know all about it!

What a relief to have the tickets!

I love all of the photos! Kadence is a professional poser for sure.:thumbsup2

None of the themes of the values have ever really appealed to me, but AoA just looks amazing! I love all of the details, it's so cool!

It was the biggest relief! I wasn't sure it could really be done until he showed me the tickets!

Yup. Sher surely does like her picture taken. Lord help me! I

I love the pictures of AoA. We are going in June and I think we may have to make a visit to see all the amazing things at the resort.

Visit!, it will be a fun time. I was amazed.

I am ok with picture heavy updates :thumbsup2

Loving all the pics of AoA I NEED to stay there someday.

So happy you got your party tickets ok and yay you meet Jan and Claire soon :hyper:

I figured I didn't need words to show off AoA.;)

Happy, to have the tickets, excited to Meet Jen & Claire!

So thankful you got your tickets! LOVING your pics of AofA! We are booked in a Cars suite for October and I just can't wait!!!

I'm jealous of your Cars suite! It's an amazing area.

popcorn:: (and HI!)

Welcome!

Those pictures are stunning! Wow! I am going to show them to my SIL who is planning a trip and wants to take her grandson there. He is a big cars fan.

Thanks!:goodvibes I;m sure he'll like the area. My DD was thrilled to see all the Cars characters.

Amazing update, and pictures! The Little Mermaid "fork" picture may be my favorite. :thumbsup2 When I saw your daughter brushing her hair next to the fork, I had to smile.

I'm thinking of staying at AOA when we go to WDW in a year or two. I would love to hear what section you think we should request for a standard room.

Thank-you. She was telling me it was a dinglehopper and she had to comb her hair with it!:lmao:

The only standard rooms are on the Little Mermaid section. Lion King, Nemo, and Cars are all family suites. If you want to be close to the the Food Court, pick Nemo, or Lion King. The little Mermaid section is a bit of a walk, but a nice area too. Cars is the best themed.

I bet that didn't help!:rotfl2:

YAY! I can't wait to hear when you guys are going! Maddie's got to be thrilled! I know Jen helped you below ( or above ^:lmao:) But I'll give my impressions.

I've never done the water parks, and really I probably never will. We live in WI, and a little over an hour away from the Water park capitol of the World, Wisconsin Dells. Plus I can't bring myself to interrupt my Disney parks times to do the waterparks.

That wasn't helpful was it?:p

I think Maddie would be in awe of AoA. The LM rooms are well themed, and as you can see, all the grounds are awesome. I do agree with Bryan, the kids grow so fast and time to have that Magic with them shortens all the time.

The bus stops are out in front of the Main building and lined up with signs as to where they are headed. I thought the bus service was great. No shared stops with any other resort, and I think it took 10 mins or less to get the DHS.

The walk to LM is the longest, but the I think it's was me and John who felt it the most. It didn't seem to bother her at all. Will you be bringing a stroller for this trip?

I've come to enjoy the "value" part of the resorts the last two trips now. It has allowed up to stay longer and have more in our plans such as MNSSHP & MVMCP.

Have I helped??:hyper:

Love the update and all of the AoA pics! I am trying to talk DH into adding a night there after our cruise in March, but I am not winning so far! I will definitely have to go see it though!!

Show him the pictures! Beg! LOL

Welcome! Attending both parties was a dream come true for me. I'm so glad we did it!

Wow!!! Your AoA pictures are great! I would love to stay there on our next trip.

Thanks! I'm hoping we can next year too.

Thanks Jen! I'm glad you have the experience with BC to give Shannon. You have also convinced me to not stay there! LOL I agree, POP and AoA had the best bus systems!

Yay for getting the ticket "situation" fixed! I'm sure that was quite a load off your minds. Kadence is so cute posing all around the resort. If she doesn't turn out to be a model, I'll be a monkey's uncle. Aunt. Monkey's aunt. :lmao:

My mind gone till I got those tickets back in our hands! Kadence has said she wants to model for Justice clothes catalog. I'll have her call her auntie Lisa! LOL

You should! I always say I'm going to and don't but I seriously would for this place!

Have a Happy New Year!!

Thanks! I hope you had nice New Years!

We laid low, watched movies, made midnight and were sleeping by 12:15. LOL

I'm working on an update, but I have a very important task to get done first, which I will share a little bit with you.

We celebrated my Grandfather's 90th birthday on Saturday. This was an very much hoped for milestone as he is not well. My gift to them will be a photo book of the day. I took over 200 pictures so I have some choices to makes. Lol
It was an emotional day, and yet a happy one as our whole family was able to be there and many friends stopped by.

I hope everyone has a good week and I'll hopefully be full of updates this weekend!

So when I left off, we had just enjoyed the AoA grounds and then headed back to the room to nap a bit and then get ready for MNSSHP. This is the table top in the room; Kadence thought it was loose papers!

So we got ready, Kadence was going as Alice. Her Grandma made her dress and she did a great job! Kadence got many compliments and someone even asked to take her picture in it. John and I went for comfort this year, I had made a Minnie Pumpkin shirt and John had gotten a Frankenstein style Mickey shirt.

Soon we were heading to the buses to head to Magic Kingdom! What a better way to start your vacation but in MK! :thumbsup2

Jen (who is the earlier mentioned awesome TA) and I had made plans to meet up, I was excited! Ive known her for a while now and Ive felt like we have become good friends. Weve even talked on the phone, but I was still nervous! Kadence was all excited to meet Claire; she thinks of her a famous because she sees her on the DIS and on FB. LOL

I had to text her to tell her we had been a bit behind schedule as the bus that came to pick us up had to unload 2 scooters, and then re-load a wheelchair and a scooter. One of the ladys driving the scooter didnt quite have the hang of maneuvering it around and couldnt get it parked on the bus right and you could tell her and her husband were getting frustrated at each other, and the bus driver was trying so hard to help, but they kept shaking their heads at him.
Once we arrived at MK, we got our first PhotoPass picture taken, and then I snapped a few then headed on in.

I got a text from her saying she had been a bit delayed as well so it was all good! I texted her that we were there, and while waiting we decided to see if we could sneak in a quick meet with the Main Mouse himself. The wait time was over 30 mins, so we decided to skip that and just take it all in.

First Picture in the Park!!! (on my phone&.had to send it to Grandma lol)

Right after the picture, Jen texted she and Claire were there and up by the Castle. They must have passed right by us!
A couple along the way,

Jen texted and said they were by the Partners statue, so I told John to look for a blonde lady with red bangs! LOL All of a sudden there she was! She is just as nice in person, and I think we had a good time chatting it up. The girls got quiet and shy. Goofs! We had each brought a few things for and the girls, I had made a autograph book special for MNSSHP, MVMCP & the Wonderland Tea Party the girls were going to attend together later the next week. Kadence picked out a pink glow wand & Princess charm bracelet to give to Claire and of course had to have the matching one so they could be twins! (Dont tell her I told you, she wanted to put that in her update but I thought it was too cute!) Jen had made a tye dyed Mickey head tank top and ribboned flips flops for Kadence and there were some stickers and a Disney pressed washcloth in a nice bag form her agency. Kadence didnt show it then, but later she was all excited and had to examine it all during dinner and was thrilled!

Of course we had to take the group picture!

John took them and God love him, but he is awful with picture taking. This is what I got, What about you Jen?

We chatted a bit more and then headed out on our own ways.

I think this is when we got something to eat, but I can't remember ad I didn't take a picture of the food. I think it was Cosmic Rays. And I think it was burgers for John and Kadence and a Chicken sandwich for me. I know that I had hoped to get into the new FL, but at that moment the signs say it was closed were still up. I should have pushed to go! I found out later that they were in fact letting people in, but I was hesitant to waste party time for eating, and plus I had a plan for later in the week!:scratchin

Yep, my pictures look identical. We are all squinting too. LOL
I think I actually got off the bus before you guys did, but it was close. And my texting skills on my old phone weren't very good. LOL

It was so funny when we were looking for each other... "I'm at the partners statue" ... "me too, where are you?" LOL

My next update should be our meet too. :thumbsup2 it may take a couple of days though. :crazy2:

It's so fun reliving this!
