Surprise WDW trip reveal video

That was great. Thanks for sharing your video. I am planning a surprize for DD when we are there and couldn't decide whether to tell her before we went or on the day of the surprize. Think I am going to wait. She has a ADR for BBB and then for CRT and she doesn't know that you can do either one but she loves visiting my stylist and getting her hair done and has always wanted to go into the castle.

I can't stand it we're 47 days out and keeping this secret from the kids is killing me. With all the YOMD commercials the kids have been dreaming of a trip. We told them it would take a couple of years to save the money to go and started a penny jar for them to save for it!:rotfl2:

We've gone so far as to take a slightly later flight so that we can send them to school for all of 45 mintues on the day we leave. So this morning, when I should have been cleaning house, I made the video we're going to use to spring the surprise. Wanna see it?

Okay, I must, I must, I must go clean the house before I burst and give away the secret!:rolleyes1

What was their response? Did you video tape that also?

We had a great trip although it was a bit hectic getting there. The Sunday before we left my oldest complained of a toothache. By his appointment with the dentist on Tuesday he was delirious in pain. Turns out he had an infection and had to have to teeth pulled the morning before we left for WDW. In order to take his mind off the upcoming oral surgery, we told him about the trip. It helped him think of something else and he's a great secret keeper.

The morning of the trip we had my parents call from Phoenix and tell the kids that they missed them, would we come visit for the weekend. We sent middle son off to school telling him that if we could get a flight we would pick him up from school. Oldest stayed home still recovering. Five minutes after my son was out the door I started pulling out loaded suitcases as DH loaded the car. It's a really good thing my 5 year old daughter has no concept of how long it takes to pack a suitcase, lol. So off we went to pick up middle son from school. You could hear a cheer rise from his room after we left and his teacher told his friends where he was going, lol.

At the airport we told the kids that since we'd gotten last minute tickets we were going to have to change planes to get there. We spoke to the flight crew before boarding the plane and they were so wonderful making no mention of WDW on the flight.

When we landed in Orlando and got off the plane DH said he needed to check on the next flight and opened his computer. We called the kids over and played the video. I have to say it was not the reaction I was expecting, lol. The 7 and 5 year old who didn't know where we were going were in such shock they didn't quite get it, lol. I told them "We're going to WDW, NOW" after the video ended. They looked at me eyes wide with shocked amazement, but very quiet, lol. I don't think it really sunk in until we were at the ME line. Our five year old daughter was very excited then, but a little put out that we had tricked her using her Papa & Nana, lol.

Thanks for asking about how the reveal went. The kids reaction wasn't quite what I'd expected, but it was priceless!
