Well, of course being the Disney fanactics we are, we just had to plan yet another (really quick) trip to Disney. We stayed 3 nights (one the first night, and 2 at the Pop Century)

So when we found out last September that we were expecting another child in June, we knew what we had to do. So we then put the wheels in motion planning my dd (age5 –then) last trip to Disney World as an only child.

During the planning process, we decided to make it a surprise for her, because of course with pregnancy you can never be too certain that all will go well, and we didn’t want to get her hopes up.

So the night before, we waited for her to go off to bed, and I began packing everything. I think that it took about 3 hours to get everything packed and in the trunk of the car so that she would not notice.

The next morning she got up and got ready for school and I got ready for work. My husband took off that day, so he drove us to our destinations. He then waited and picked her up from school early (about 2pm), and then came to the school where I work (I am a librarian, so I was able to get her out of the car, and bring her in with me until it was time to leave – early of course). All of this time she didn’t was not aware of what was going on, she just thought she was getting to visit mommy at work.

So now we are on our way, because our flight left at 6PM (or so we thought – you’ll hear about that later). Guess what happens, we need gas , and just wont make it unless we stop.

As you can see our little Angel is sleeping away while we get gas ((lol)).

Wait I think that she is suspecting something….. :confused3

OHHHHHH NOW I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so now we are at the airport, and thinking that our flight is leaving on time. We try to get through security but I had some Aquafor (sort of Vaseline) in my luggage and they asked me to go and check the bag. It wasn’t too bad it except I had to go and stand in the security line again, and remember that at this point I am 6 months pregnant, and my husband had gone through with my daughter and the rest of our luggage. Anyway, it turned out that our flight was not only late but we ended up waiting for our flight for 4 hours. We arrived in Orlando at about 11:30 /12:00AM. We got to the Hotel (Buena Vista Palace Hotel) about 3AM. By now I am soooo tired that I could barely stand up straight. So we go to sleep and of course my dd (so full of energy) ) woke us up at 9AM ready to leave for the parks. It wasn’t bad because we had to check out at 10AM so that we could check into our main hotel (Pop Century).

Ok so now we are off to the Pop Century to check in so that we could get our tickets to the parks and our dining plan (couldn’t get into the room just yet, but at least we got those). We then headed to the Animal Kingdom .......

Pic of the Tree of Life…..

One thing that stands out is the fact that my dd lost a tooth that day while biting into a pizza. Don’t worry it was loose for days prior. :) That was at the Pizzafari . We finished our day at the Animal Kingdom, and had dinner. At this point it was about 7PM. We took a shower and YOU GUESSED IT!!!!..... We fell asleep for the rest of the night. Not much action on that day.

More on Day 2 later :)..... Baby is crying...... :cloud9: :thumbsup2

:) Thanks. I will be finishing the rest later tonight or in the AM.. Congrats you are my first guest :) This is cool.

YAY! Fun fun FUN!

I'm here too. I'm anxious to see more pics and read more!

I'm here also:yay: . Glendamax is going to be mad that we beat her here.

Day 2

Ok, today woke up pretty early (about 6:20AM) mostly because we went to sleep soo early the night before. Of course, Kelsey got up before we did yet again. Today, we are on our way to The Magic Kingdom.

We arrived about 8:00AM and began that memorable walk down Main Street.

Of course when we get there, Kelsey decides that she wants to be the tour guide.

First, we headed to Tommorowland to ride the TommorowLand Speedway.
84205Kelsey8.jpg

As you can see…. Hubby and Kelsey are revving up. Of course I had to sit that one out.

Funny thing happened right before they got to the Speedway… We stopped at the DVC kiosk, and began speaking to the representative about DVC (BTW… we have been ‘planning” for a while to join, but just hadn’t gotten around to it :o). Anyway, we were talking and he asked us if we were interested in attending a presentation. We were apprehensive at first, but agreed. He then told us that if we attended we would be an Ultimate Fast Pass, that allows you to get on 4 certain rides even faster than the normal fast pass. In other words, when we went to the FP kiosk, we put the ticks in and got an immediate time instead of a comeback time. That part was awesome!!! That was there way of giving back the time spent with them that we lost for the presentation. The presentation was great, and we really enjoyed it. We haven’t taken the plunge just yet, but we plan to get involved in DVC in the future.

The rides that we took advantage of (FP) were: Buzz Lightyear Spin, Big Thunder Mountain, Mickey’s Philharmagic, and Splash Mountain. Then we managed to ride about 7 more rides before our ressies at the Liberty Tree Tavern….

My hubby just looks like he was trying to understand the concept of the place (lol)

Late lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern was not at all great, and we probably won’t be eating there again. It’s more of a family style dining experience, which is fine, but the food itself just wasn’t that great, but not horrible.

By now it’s the end of the day, and I am tired and so is the rest of my crew. It was about 4:30PM. We go on and leave because we wanted to go to Downtown Disney later.

They are thinking that I am walking too slow.

84205Kelsey11.jpg

As you can see, Kelsey is the only one not tired and standing
No pics of me to share because I looked horrible at that time :lmao:

Ok now that we are finally away from MK, we then head back to the hotel, to freshen up, and then head to DT Disney. We had dinner there and ate at Wolfgang Puck Restaurant. The food was not too bad at all. After dinner we walked DT Disney and went to the World of Disney and went to the Biddidi Bobbidi Boutique where Kelsey was able to get a jewelry box and fill it with jewels, and designed her own wand.

We then head back to the hotel for the night, so get ready to leave in the AM for home.

A night time view of our hotel on our last night.

Now back to reality. I cant wait for our Disney World/ Disney Cruise trip in December with our newest addition. Stay tuned for our PTR / TR of that trip.

Ummmm . . . YES, I'm IS mad!!!! :snooty:

Hello S'sMom! So nice to meet you. So sorry I'm late (quiet Lan!).

I was smiling soooooo hard when you surprised your daughter! I dont know what I would've done if my Mom had done that for me! I LOVE the pic of the 2 of them in your siggie! Your babies are soooooooooo cute!

As for joing the DVC, PM if you decide to do it. If you use me as a reference, you'll get 180 extra points to use for a year - which comes out to free week!

Well, I'm glad I found your report! Looking forward to more!!!

Wow, to be picked up from school and whisked away to Disney World! What a life!

Kelsey reminded me of Rudy Huxtable as soon as I saw those first couple of pictures. She's a cutie, and I know she's a sweet big sister.

We're getting Liberty Tree Tavern in at Thanksgiving, before the characters are gone. We're going more for the characters and atmosphere than the food. Seems like they could have one meal with characters and one without, if the reason they're doing away with them is really because more guests requested non-character dining. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would still like the characters around, too, and won't eat there without them.

Looking forward to more, and best of everything as you raise those two precious little ones.

P.S. I feel sorry for all of y'all who've done gone and got Glenda mad. Ooooohhh! I'd be very :scared1: !!!

Hey thanks for sending me here. What a great TR!!

Hi Lan, Tosha, Kvolk, MeMom, GlendaMax, MainStManday, & Native NYer.

I am so glad that you guys decided to take a look. I just hate that I figuered out how to do this so late in the summer. I now have 2 weeks before I return back to work and reality.

Tosha, thanks for coming on over :)

Kvolk, I am so glad that you are enjoying my world. As you know, I just figured out how to add pics to my post. I feel so "Special" ((lol))

GlendaMax, I may need to pick your brain about the DVC, we have considered joining for so long. I will definately be PM'ing you.

MainStMandy, thanks. I am planning to do a PTR for out upcoming trip.

MeMom, I completely understand where you are coming from. I love the character dining as a whole. And the characters at the LTT were great, but its the food that just might keep us away. But we love eating with the characters.. I think our best experience has been at the Grand Floridian, and the Crystal Palace, as far as overall including the characters. Yes, surprising Kelsey was an experience that I will never forget. We loved the look on her face, it was priceless :) I doubt we will ever be able to surprise her in that way again. :(

Thanks Native NYer, Kelsey is just a big ham most of the time.

If I had known and figured out how to do this earlier, I could have done it sooner with all of my other trips. Disney World and the Cruise is just so magical :)

OMG!!!! I think that that is wonderful :)

Wow 19 days that is not long at all. But I am with you on this one, if we had told her, she would be just like your dd, and we would have had conversations that lasted for weeks. But instead, we talked afterwards.

But I do have the chance to talk to her now about our upcoming trip at Christmas. I am excited myself. !!!

I hope she isnt too mad. I will be meeting her in person for the first time in Sept.

I love the quick trips to Disney. The quickest was driving down early one morning and coming back that night. My friends had an interview at Disney and who am I to turn down a trip. We were loaded up on Starbucks and sweets.

Great TR and such beautiful little children. Looking forward to your pre-trip report.

Thanks G-Max for sending me here, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cathy
