Well, of course being the Disney fanactics we are, we just had to plan yet another (really quick) trip to Disney. We stayed 3 nights (one the first night, and 2 at the Pop Century)
So when we found out last September that we were expecting another child in June, we knew what we had to do. So we then put the wheels in motion planning my dd (age5 –then) last trip to Disney World as an only child.
During the planning process, we decided to make it a surprise for her, because of course with pregnancy you can never be too certain that all will go well, and we didn’t want to get her hopes up.
So the night before, we waited for her to go off to bed, and I began packing everything. I think that it took about 3 hours to get everything packed and in the trunk of the car so that she would not notice.
The next morning she got up and got ready for school and I got ready for work. My husband took off that day, so he drove us to our destinations. He then waited and picked her up from school early (about 2pm), and then came to the school where I work (I am a librarian, so I was able to get her out of the car, and bring her in with me until it was time to leave – early of course). All of this time she didn’t was not aware of what was going on, she just thought she was getting to visit mommy at work.
So now we are on our way, because our flight left at 6PM (or so we thought – you’ll hear about that later). Guess what happens, we need gas , and just wont make it unless we stop.
As you can see our little Angel is sleeping away while we get gas ((lol)).
Wait I think that she is suspecting something…..
OHHHHHH NOW I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok so now we are at the airport, and thinking that our flight is leaving on time. We try to get through security but I had some Aquafor (sort of Vaseline) in my luggage and they asked me to go and check the bag. It wasn’t too bad it except I had to go and stand in the security line again, and remember that at this point I am 6 months pregnant, and my husband had gone through with my daughter and the rest of our luggage. Anyway, it turned out that our flight was not only late but we ended up waiting for our flight for 4 hours. We arrived in Orlando at about 11:30 /12:00AM. We got to the Hotel (Buena Vista Palace Hotel) about 3AM. By now I am soooo tired that I could barely stand up straight. So we go to sleep and of course my dd (so full of energy) ) woke us up at 9AM ready to leave for the parks. It wasn’t bad because we had to check out at 10AM so that we could check into our main hotel (Pop Century).
Ok so now we are off to the Pop Century to check in so that we could get our tickets to the parks and our dining plan (couldn’t get into the room just yet, but at least we got those). We then headed to the Animal Kingdom .......
Pic of the Tree of Life…..
One thing that stands out is the fact that my dd lost a tooth that day while biting into a pizza. Don’t worry it was loose for days prior.
That was at the Pizzafari . We finished our day at the Animal Kingdom, and had dinner. At this point it was about 7PM. We took a shower and YOU GUESSED IT!!!!..... We fell asleep for the rest of the night. Not much action on that day.
More on Day 2 later
..... Baby is crying......
