My mom is going to be hitting a landmark age in less than a month and my dad and I want to throw her a surprise party...but as we are planning it for the actual day of her birthday it might be a bit obvious. (plus she's already catching on!) Any good suggestions to get my mom out of the house and unsuspicious of our plans?

My SILs and best friend threw my baby shower for me. It was a surprise. It was in MY OWN HOUSE!! My advice, is for you to line up someone who you implicitly trust to get everything set up at the house, and then you and your dad take your mom out to lunch, or brunch or dinner or whatever. Then when you all arrive home, the party is there, in full swing, and she walks into it. This is exactly what happened. My DH said he felt like going to TGI Friday's for lunch, and off we went. We arrived home to about 20 people on our deck, and the party in full swing.

Good Luck! I LOVE surprise parties. Feel free to PM if you need any more details
