I have never done a PTR ever. Hopefully I get this right!

Intro
We have been going to Disney World every year since 1999, except 2002 when DD was born and 2008 when we decided to take a trip to Disneyland! I have been a bit bummed that my kids know we go to Disney every year so its never a surprise. Then this whole memories campaign comes out and makes it worse. We planned to go to Disney in October, but DH and I were in a bit of withdraw so we moved the trip up to May! Then it dawned on us not to tell the kids we are moving the trip! I am so excited to surprise them. And even better my parents will be going along and if all goes right, the kids won’t find out until we get to the gate at the airport! (we are all on the same flight, but we have to try to avoid each other through security). The kids also think we will be driving 15 hours in October to get there. My DD actually volunteered to save her money to buy herself a plane ticket!

This is the first trip my DH left me to plan myself. He loves planning our trips and I usually give my input and just enjoy! But this time I was in charge of figuring out where to be on what days.. Things keep coming up causing us to have to change the schedule around. Thankfully we don't have any ADR's since we are doing Quick Service Dining Plan.

Our cast of characters
Mandy Jo - Me, celebrating my 10 year anniversary

Jacob - DS4 Will be tall enough to ride most of the rides finally! Most excited about Test Track!

Mom-Mom - My mom who is becoming quite the Disney veteran herself, having come along with us a few times!
Pop - My Dad who has been to Disney 2 times before. Last time was when my DD turned 2. We persuaded him to come along this time to see DS experience the world.

Where we are staying
My DH and I are DVC owners, so we decided to stay at AKL and VWL this time. But the first night we are staying at POP to save points. My parents will be staying at POP.

Our schedule
5/6 Fly into Orlando, Magic Kingdom then over to Chef Mickey’s,
explore POP resort with my parents
5/7 Epcot , after dinner over to AK for the kids run then headed to
Disney’s Boardwalk. Check into AKL
5/8 DHS (my DD HAS to see the finale of the American Idol
experience, since her brother caused her to miss it last January)
5/9 Magic Kingdom, Pirates League, Steam Train tour. Catching Main
Street Electrical Parade and Wishes. Then possibly sending the
kids with my parents so DH and I can stay late!
5/10 Epcot, walking around the countries, staying for Illuminations.
5/11 Animal Kingdom/Downtown Disney Check into VWL
5/12 Magic Kingdom
5/13 Free day to do whatever we want
5/14 Flying home : (

Some new fun things we will be doing this trip!

Kids run - The 7th turns out to be the Everest Challenge and we found out there was a kids run. Which actually works out perfectly because my DD was a bit sad when we explained to her that something came up the weekend she was supposed to run her first 5K. (well the something that came up is a surprise trip to Disney World!) What better way to make it up to her, then doing a kids run in Disney World?

Pirates League - My DD requested a makeover to look like a girl pirate. She did BBB a few years ago and she just isn’t that girly anymore. She is much more pirate than Princess. We were torn on whether to have DS do it too, but he pretty much helped us make up our mind by saying he didn’t want to look like a pirate.

Steam Engine tour - Since my Dad will probably not go back for a really long time and loves trains, we decided that this would be an excellent tour for him to do. My DH will be doing it with him.

Behind the Seeds - I have wanted to do this tour. I love Living with the Land,

Being able to experience Soarin, Test Track, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain as a family, instead of using child swap. My son is finally big enough!

We will be checking in the day you check out of AKL....we are staying the 11th - 15th. 1st time at the Animal Kingdom Lodge....surprising our 2 boys (10 and 6 at time of travel). Looking forward to it.

Cheryl.
