OK, so I just now got a wild hair and need some help/advice. Dh and I just purchased DVC and are going home in Sept for a week w/DS (3). We've been saying how we'd love go by ourselves just once more, but don't have a way to go for a whole week by ourselves- no one to watch DS. So, our 5 year anniversary is April 8th. Our HM was in WDW at Dixie Landings- was DHs first trip and he's a fan now. I was thinking of doing a surprise weekend trip for our anniversary. I'm thinking that I can get my mom to come down to watch DS for the weekend. DH gets a week vacation and that's when we're going to WDW in sept, but I'm thinking maybe I can call and ask his boss to let him off that Friday, the 8th w/o pay and explain why and to tell him to keep it hush-hush. DH will know something is going on, but not what. I just found specials on SW airlines so we could fly from New ORleans for $39 each way, which would be less than $200 for the both of us round trip. Then, I can just go ahead and have our tickets and just add a couple of days which won't be a huge difference. I was going to go ahead and buy them with our tax return money anyway. The only other thing is where to stay? I looked at the disney site and had no problems bringing up rooms for that weekend, so I think I can find one. But, should I borrow points from 2006 or just pay cash and stay at a Value or even at POR? I'm looking for codes, too. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!! Oh, and if it helps, we don't plan on going in 2006, as I'm hoping to get pg again after the sept trip! We were planning on just banking them for 2007- and our UY is August.

While I understand your desire to surprise your DH---it's a lot to go through, logistically, speaking to the boss of your DH---arranging child care, etc., whew, you have my admiration----maybe it would be best to sit down with your DH and plan a "trip for two" rather than going through the obvious issues you have in front of you. My DH and I took a trip, just the two of us, and it was magical----honestly though, I believe half the "magical" part was the two of us planning and anticipating our "Christmas trip to DW!" Good luck to you, I would LOVE to hear how this turns out!

I've surprised my husband with a trip for his birthday once (unfortunately, not WDW) but he would love to be surprised with something like this. I say go for it!
