Surial Bath ????

This is the post I left on the thread: things you would or would not do again:

I WILL NOT EVER EVER NEVER do the Surial Bud Bath again. (well, unless George Clooney or Matt Damon BEGGED me). I didn't realize that it was in a steam room that was about 375,000 degrees. You can walk out of the "steamy part of the room and climb in the shower that is about 20 degrees below freezing. I was so sick. If you walk over the sink to wash your hands the hot steam from the floor actually BURNS your feet and you have to jump back. It got me 3 times before I realized that I better wash my hands in the shower. It was SO STINKING HOT and not romantic at all. They leave you with all kinds of lotions to try. So we ended up using them and then taking a shower. Then when we were done they tried to sell the overpriced products to us and then rudely pushed for a big tip because we got mud on our robes and she was going to have to wash them. Lets hope they WASH THEM ANYWAY!!!!
All in all, it was nice to have time alone with my husband but the mud was only fun for about 3 minutes. Then the heat stroke kicked in. SO in summary, it was $100.00 to take a cold shower after my heat stroke. It would have been free in my cabin, and no extreme temp.shock!

It is still available, but it's called the Rasual now. I haven't done it on the Magic lately, so I can't comment on that (although we still do it occasionally on our Wonder cruises).

My husband and I did this on our September Cruise. I did it mainly because I thought he would like it....and boy, did he. He has mentioned it many times since we have been back and even has called around to some of the spas here asking if they have anything like it. ROFL. (I didn't know he was calling, he did it and told me later). If I remember correctly it was around $90 and really I wouldn't have done it if we hadn't had the $200 shipboard credit. Like another poster said, it was really, really hot. The water in the steam room on the floor would burn your feet. They have a little hose of cold water and it was like heaven. We didn't have any problems with the shower being cold, but the shampoo bottles were empty so I ended up having to take my shower in the women's changing area. That wasn't a big deal because the showers in there are heavenly. Anyway, we have rescheduled for next Sept. and my husband can't wait simply for the Rasul. :earseek:

Oh, just to let you know. We were on the Magic.

Wow, $90 to sweat and play in wet dirt, followed by a sales pitch and pressure for a big tip due to having to *gasp* wash the robes... umm, I'll pass I think ;).
