I finally decided enough is enough about a month ago, and scheduled my hysterectomy. The time is upon me, and man it came up quick. I'm really, really nervous. I haven't had surgery since I was 6 (tonsils/tubes), and I'm 41 now.

Anyway, if you can spare a prayer for me, I would really really appreciate it. Thanks!

I've never had surgery, so I guess I'd be apprehensive too...
I'm sure everything will go well and hoping for a wonderful recovery for you too...you will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Hugs to you. I have had surgery twice now. Once to remove a lung and I too had a hysterectomy. My hysterectomy was last december. It went smoothly and the recovery was not bad.

Prayers and thoughts coming your way!!

Prayers going out to you! I had mine over a year ago and it was the best thing I could have done - no regrets! :thumbsup2 I was walking around Disney 6 weeks later - a bit tired, but ok.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Jill

Prayers and hugs go out to you. Remember, everyone deals with pain differently, so "don't be a martyr" (as my mom says) and do what it takes to recover quickly and comfortably! Here's one for you presurgery:hug: and one for right after:hug:.

I had a partial hysteectomy laproscipally last December. It was extremely easy and I never took so much as an aspirin when I got home the next day. Supposedly I had an unusually easy time, so I hope you do too! :)

My best wishes for an easy surgery and recovery.

Follow the doctor's orders and as someone mentioned, don't be a martyr - if they give you pain meds, take 'em BEFORE any residual discomfort does you in - BTDT with my 1st surgery at 50.

Take care & let us know how it turns out.

I just posted that I am scheduled for same thing with an oopherectomy (removal of fallopian tubes and ovaries too) in another thread regarding an ablation procedure.
My whole sad story is there, so not gonna repeat but want to
Wish you a VERY speedy and minimal pain procedure as possible. :grouphug:

Hugs and Prayers.:grouphug:

Please update us WHEN you can on how you are doing.

Lots of prayers, good wishes, and hugs to you! I wish you an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery too. Please let us know how you're doing when you are able.

just want to say that I hope it goes well and easy for you. When I had my hysterectomy 15 years ago, I had a LOT of pain for a few weeks afterwards. But, I got pneumonia from the anesthesia, and that really kicked my butt!! And, it still is the best thing I ever had to do, now that it's over!! Godd luck, all your DIS friends will be praying for you!!

Thanks, ya'll. Can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Will check in once I can walk up the stairs to the computer!

I keep telling myself that by this time tomorrow I'll be enjoying those good pain drugs . ;) I see zero sleep in my near future, though...
