This is my first attempt at a Dis Pre-Trip Report, so there's no telling what may happen along the way. I tend to chase a lot of rabbit trails. But the ultimate goal is to share my anticipation and planning adventures with other Disney addicts, right? Also, this trip is going to be a surprise for my entire family, including my DH who is normally the sounding board for all my obsessive trip planning hither and thither, so I needed another outlet, since I know if I tell any member either of our families, word WILL get out.

So, here is the honest-to-God real reason for the whole family surprise... My DH, who I affectionately refer to as the Beast (as in "Beauty and the...), SAYS he doesn't like Disney. I'm not sure if it's a macho thing, or something he learned from his Dad, or if he's just trying to drive me crazy, but he always makes a face when I talk about going back to WDW. When we get there, he has a great time and just loves every minute of it. But it's a battle I just don't want to fight, so I am planning this trip behind his back! Shhhh!

Does that make me a bad wife? Everyone will have their opinions, of course, but by the time I'm through though, I think most of you will be on my side. And it's not as though I'm keeping something terrible from him. He really does have a wonderful time once we get there! Honest! If he didn't, I wouldn't even want him to go, because believe me, he is not fun to be with when he isn't enjoying himself. He's definitely not one of those "take one for the team" kind of dads who pretends for the kids' sake!! Not that he isn't a great dad, and a great husband for that matter, he just isn't good at hiding his true feelings. Ever.

So, I figured, surely I can squirrel away enough money over the next 8 months or so to pay for a Disney trip. Well, actually, I guess it will be 6 and a half months since the final payment will be due 45 days before the actual reservation, but that's still doable I think.

OKay, so since this is the first installment, and I've already rambled and rambled, I'd better go ahead and introduce the fam for those of you who haven't abandoned the thread in search of something far more interesting...

This is yours truly, Amy. I won't bore you with descriptions since you'll form your own opinions eventually anyway...

This is the Beast. I call him that because he can be scary, in fact he tries to be scary, but inside he's just a big ball of mush; but at least he doesn't LOOK scary. In fact, I think he looks pretty darn good. But my sis-in-law pointed out the other day that he certainly has aged a lot in the 8 years that we've been married. I guess I'm wearing him down!
