Surprise we are going to Disney World!! -Day 1

Our Cast of Characters:

DH-Dale-Disney Lover
DS-Keewatin-10- (Kiwi for short)-Also a Disney Fanatic
DH and I are up at 6:15 am, we quickly get ready and set the video camera up in DS room. We wake him up and tell him to get ready, he asks why as he knows it is much earlier than his usual wake up time. We tell him we are going somewhere and to guess where-he sleepily says Disney. We say YES!!!! And he pops right up, he is now speechless looking at us half-asleep! Needless to say he is very happy and excited and gets ready very quickly. This was a special moment for DH and I as we had waited so long to tell DS, we have all wanted to return to WDW since our first trip in 2000.
We had a pleasant 6.5 hour drive to Minneapolis, took a break in Fargo to gas up and have lunch. On the way there DS worked on his travel journal and read the For kids by Kids Disney guide I had gotten him. DH drove the whole way (thank-you!). We checked into the Country Inn and Suites across from the Mall of America. Very nice hotel, they had a very good park and fly rate and so we left our car there while at Disney. We walked across to Mall of America, we had never been there before so we spent a long time walking and exploring. My back was super stiff so we bought one of those wooden massagers. Had our supper at the Rainforest Café, it was yummy, had the best salad and then headed back to the hotel. We turned in early as we had an early morning flight!
