I am starting to get worried about Jeanne. Do you think MCO will be closed on Monday? I am scared of flying as it is, now flying over or near a hurricane makes me really panic. The path of Jeanne keeps getting more west, looks like central Florida will be in the direct path.

From what Ive read-and you will want to confirm this on your own- some airlines are going to start cancelling flights this afternoon and wont resume until Jeanne passes and the damage is taken care of. As for flying, the pilot would not fly right over the storm, but would go around it, as they do with most storms. Theyre saying Jeanne will hit FL sometime tomorrow and looks like it will ride up the eastern coast. However, its been pretty erractic so anything is possible. I heard on the news last night that Sea World had already planned to scale back on their hours today and tomorrow, and that other parks might follow suit.

We we're supposed to fly in on Sunday morning and have changed our flight to Monday for now - with no extra charges if we need to change them again. I'm hoping they'll be up and running again by then. We were told (last night) MCO is planning on closing at 5pm tonight (Sat) - even though it wasn't on their site. Anyone have an update?

We're supposed to fly in Tuesday morning. Looks like we''ll be in good shape as far as the weather, but of course damage to the airport and surrounding areas could change things for us.

If Jeanne doesn't strengthen we can hope that we're just talking rain and that the winds won't be too heavy. Tornados could be a problem, though, and those are hard to predict and can obviously do great damage.

Is a great station to watch for current hurricane information. At this point they are still reporting the airport closing at 5 PM in Orlando.

Just checked the MCO website and they will be closed from 5pm today through noon on Monday.

Just spoke with JetBlue airlines. The cancelled our flight that was supposed to depart at 6:30 am and re-booked us on a flight for 1:50 pm. I guess we will just have to wait and see if that one will go.

We also were suppose to arrive Monday am, but I chickened out and rescheduled for a flight arriving Tues AM. I feel so much better!!! And the kids aren't too bummed since it's only a one day delay. ( I did have to promise to order in pizza tonight though!)

Seems like I've spent hours changing my airline tickets,Poly ressie, towncar ressie and Priority Seatings, but everyone was so cooperative, no extra charges anywhere! My hassle is nothing compared to what Florida residents are going thru, my thoughts and prayer's are with you.

I'd recommend rescheduling now and getting the best available flights before your stuck with whatever's left. From what I could tell WDW will be very busy 9/28- 10/5, had a really hard time finding available flights, PS's, etc.

Good luck to you!

4boys4me,
You have a good point. I wonder if I should just re-book for Tues. now, as airline still has room at this point, instead of risking flight cancellation, and then airline may be all booked for Tues. too.
I'm sure this all seems petty to those who live in Florida and have experienced all the hurricanes so far.
I hope everyone is safe during the storm.
