Supposed to check in in 6 days, but now will likely have to cancel. Garden Grocer?

My mom is in the hospital and doing very poorly. If she doesn't stabilize in the next couple days, I will need to reschedule our trip. I will lose the package deposit if that happens, but I couldn't live with myself if she passed while I was gone. Can my Garden Grocer be canceled at this point?
 
The Garden Grocer website should provide all the information you might need or want.

I can't see them charging you the restocking fee because I wouldn't expect them to have purchased or packaged any part of your order yrt. But I've been wrong before.
 
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. We needed to cancel our October trip on the same day we were scheduled to check in to BRV for a very similar reason. Disney made sure our DVC points stayed in our account and I called Garden Grocer and they gave us a full refund and did not charge us a restocking fee; the Customer Service rep was very kind. The fee wouldn’t have bothered me, but I didn’t want them making a needless trip for a guest who had cancelled. Please give them a call and I’m sure they will work with you.

I'm so sorry about your mom. Just a note - if you re-schedule your trip prior to check-in and do not outright cancel, you will not lose your deposit. You will have to pay prevailing rates for the new dates and possibly a $50 change fee (which is typically waived if your new dates cost the same or more than your original dates), but you will not lose your $200 deposit. I wish you all the best.

Thank-you so much for this! That's a big help to me. There's still hope for this trip because Mom seemed a little better today and we are hoping she turned a corner. I will monitor her situation and decide on Tuesday (We start the drive Wednesday).
 
I’m so sorry about your mom. I don’t know about Garden Grocer, but just wanted to say that we were in a similar situation a few years ago with my grandma. My mom and I were going out of town for spring break, not Disney but several hours away from home. The nursing home called the night before to let us know she was ill. They said they didn’t feel it was serious and we should go ahead and go on the trip. Unfortunately, she passed away after we got to our destination. We had to turn around and go back, but ultimately there was no way we could have known. So do what you think is best. It’s such a difficult decision. I hope she turns a corner and all is well.
