I was just about to reserve my SuperShuttle online from John Wayne Airport to the Anaheim Marriott, but wasn't quite ready to pre-pay. If I don't reserve ahead, do I call when I arrive, or is there a kiosk where I present myself - as there is for Mears at MCO? My daughter is arriving the following day, and I hope she can pay with a credit card if I don't reserve her shuttle in advance.

When you arrive, walk out of bagage claim, across the drive, and to the little island. There, you will find super shuttle. We've always reserved and pre-paid as part of a package- but you dont have to. Not sure about the the credit card question. You can find them at www.supershuttle.com, maybe the answer can be found there.

Thanks! I just noticed this:

Upon Arrival At (SNA) John Wayne / Orange County Airport

Claim your luggage and proceed to the Transportation Courtesy Phone Board behind the baggage carousel and dial 33 on the Black phone.

I took the SuperShuttle 3 years ago, and I do remember their pick-up area, but can't remember if I booked ahead or just showed up!

I've done it both ways. The advantage to not pre-paying is that you can walk out there and get the various shuttle drivers to bargain with you. Usually, they're not full and need to get in more people and it's to their advantage to get you on their shuttle. If there's more than one parked, you've got a shot at getting a good, competitive price, and they try to top each other. Generally, SuperShuttle isn't the cheapest. However, I'm not sure all of them take credit cards.

If you go on the John Wayne Airport's website, you can see all the companies listed that do shuttles, and comparison shop.

You dont say how many of you there are- if you are traveling with others, I would take a cab. Its about $35-36 flat rate each way. And its much quicker!

I just took SuperShuttle over to my hotel when I was there about a month ago (note that they do require reservations for it, but you do not have to prepay when you make the reservation.) You just pay the driver for it when you get there ($10 per passenger plus tip.) For that amount of money, I didn't think it necessary to bother with haggling over anything. It took about a half hour total from the airport to the hotel, although there were a couple of stops before mine.

I agree. ::yes::

We have a family of four, and it's always easier and less expensive for us to take a cab. Being faster is also an added bonus. :banana:

It's just me on a Thursday afternoon, and my daughter arrives the next evening.

So...for those of you who are experienced DL travelers...we are looking to use Southwest since we've got a travel credit to burn before August and right now to fly into SNA it's about $140 one way while ONT is about $90 one way, but LAX is $100 and the arrival time is much better than ONT. I know SNA is the preferred airport (closest and easiest to manage), so my question is...would it really be worth the higher airfare to be able to fly into SNA and get a taxi? (There are 3 of us who will have to pay adult price for shuttle service.) We have really gotten spoiled at WDW the last couple of trips using a towncar service that picks us up at the baggage area and takes us straight to the resort.

I appreciate everyone's thoughts...I feel like I just really don't have a clue about planning this trip simply because we have never been and finding info isn't as readily available as it is with WDW...I'm really pleased to be able to ask you experts. Thanks for your help!
