We were booked to stay at the Newport Bay Hotel next week until this evening we recieved a call from France from a Disney employee informing us that a mistake had been made with our booking, the Newport Bay had been overbooked! (We gulped and expected the worst!) but we were then politely invited to stay at the DisneyLand Hotel instead FREE OF CHARGE!!!!! :sunny: :bounce: ::yes:: :hyper:
We are over the moon!!!!
Right, what can we expect then from this hotel? Come on, whats so special about it??? Get me even more excited!!!!!

Paul

What a fantastic mistake, you must be soooo excited. :mickeyjum . :donald: :goofy:

I don't know much about the hotel, however the location is fantastic and you will now get the 3 fastpass that you can use at any time, and i think that they do charachter breakfast every morning.

:cheer2: That is wonderful news.

You must be soooooo excited. I cant help you with advice about the hotel as i am having my first visit to DLP on Tuesday.

But just wanted to say thats great. :thumbsup2

What fantastic news :cheer2:

What is good about this hotel.... okay let's start the list :)

Location right beside the park, so you can pop back to the hotel for a break during the day.
You don't need to book a character breakfast, since every breakfast at DLH the characters appear
A very small but lovely pool area to unwind at the end of a long park day.
Realise that you are staying in the only hotel that is part of the park, some rooms are lucky enough to have park views :goodvibes

Wow, you are so lucky!!! party: This will make your holiday extra magical! pixiedust:

Does anyone know if tea & coffee facilities are available in DLH rooms and are they free or extra charge? Any idea how much? Just wondering if we will be better taking a travel kettle and our own drinks.
Thanks

Paul

What a wonderful surprise!!! :cheer2: That hotel is so gorgeous!!!

WOW!!!! That is brilliant news!!!!! I am sure you will have a great time staying there- hopefully one day I will get to stay there too princess:

You will love it! We have stayed twice and it really is the most wonderful experience!! Any questions feel free to ask or pm me. :)

You'll be living in a pink hotel overlooking a beautiful pink castle having breakfast in Inventions I can't thinK of anything nicer except you are right next to the park. Have a great visit :goodvibes

We were offered an "upgrade" from the Cheyenne to the NY but my son insisted on the Cheyenne (cowboy nut he is) and we declined.

The DLH is simply THE best hotel onsite for Disney enthusiasts - I really hope it makes your holiday special ... enjoy :thumbsup2

At what point were you offered this upgrade? I ask because we are staying in the Cheyenne but we really aren't bothered where we stay, we chose it because it was the cheapest option at the time (3 nights for the price of 2).

Since my daughter is 13 and neither of us are cowboy fans we would welcome the chance to upgrade! :hippie:

Those fastpasses are only when you stay in the Castle Club, the Suites from DL Hotel.
You do get fastpasses, but a few just to use one time.

Sometime's they also give that one you can use over and over again, so maybe you lucky.

Paul, you do realise that we will now expect a very long trippie with lots of details about the hotel???!!! :lmao:

Only joking :teeth: seriously though, we would all love to hear about your holiday when you get back. :goodvibes

In response to kevankiki, we were offered the upgrade 2 days ago which was only 4 days before our stay. The only reason we were offered the hotel was because they had overbooked the Newport so it was a goodwill gesture. We were over the moon obviously!!
I will try and do a report when we return!

Wow, hope the upgrade fairy visits us then, neither of us are cowboy fans like I said :)

Hope you had a great birthday! :bday:

We were upgraded from standard room to Bridal Suite on our honeymoon in 2003 (we'd turned down the offer to pay for it when we booked - £1,200 extra for 5 nights!) but never been upgraded to a different hotel - what a fab result!
