Okay the reason I am annoyed is that my CM straight cutter thingy is "shredding" my paper. I have two colors of the same card stock and one it cut perfect the other all "choppy". Any experience with this. I would say I just need a new blade but it is cutting other stuff fine. It is no big deal for this project and I can "dechop" the edges but what's up? Is there maybe a "grain" to be cutting with?

Second random question. Has anyone had experience with this. I have stickers I Would like to use in a swap but do not have enough and no more available. Is there a way I can make an original and scan it somehow to print? The thing is I'd like to print on vellum, It would be in color but how do I get it not to print the "background" or I am missing something.

TIA

M

Hi - I don't know if this will help or not but I have created elements that I scanned into the computer then printed in the size I wanted for my swap items.

I just created my original on very white paper. When I printed it only the elements (stickers, sizzlets letters) printed. I guess I could have printed it on velum.

If you have access to photo shop or paint, maybe you can take what you scan in and paint out (with white) whatever you don't want. Since the printer doesn't print white, anything you "paint" white won't show up.

You can use photoshop or the paint to delete the background.

As for the cutter, I gave up too, I have another cutter from Friskas (sp?) and I just replaced the blade. You can talk to your consultant about it and they should replace it.
Or maybe is the type of paper.
Sorry.

need icon hitting head..... right printers don't print white.... that should work!!! Thank you sooooo much!!!!!

follow up question besides a "sticker" paper is there anything I can sent up what I want on and then replace it. They are stickers I want to use, but would need to put on white cardstock or something to scan, but ultimately would want it on a color (it seems a shame to "waste" the precious (my precious) stickers LOL

I have stuck stickers onto a trasparnecy sheet and then scanned them and printed them out. I actually used a color copier to scan and copy them onto a inkjet transparency. I then was able to take the sticker itself off the page and use it again.

Once you print them, how do you cut them? Do you just cut around the area or how do you do it? What tool do you use to cut?

Regarding the CM cutter, if it is a thinner paper try placing the blade about 1/2 inch onto the paper and then pull back to the end and then go forward (sounds weird but it works) I get a clean cut everytime.

I've scanned stickers and printed out clipart to be used as stickers. I print mine out on glossy photo paper and then use the yellow bee sizzors to cut them out. Sometimes very close to the line and sometimes I leave some white. Depends on what I think I will use them for.

No it doesn't sound weird :thumbsup2 I know exactly what you mean, but nope hasn't helped. It isn't thin and it just shreds. I know I need to call me CMC but I have not been able to remember when I have her number or email..... can you believe it It isn't memorized :)
