Found a good deal for Super 8 on Disneyland Dr. and am wondering if any dissers have ever stayed here? I do know it is a little longer of a hike to the park - or that we could catch the tram from the parking area -- but wanted to see if anyone had any reviews after staying there? Thanks in advance- we are WDW vets going to the Land for the first time in March - starting to book and plan - we are so excited - thanks everyone!!!

I stayed there in December 2007. It's nothing special, but not bad. A typical Super 8. The hike to the tram is loooooong (over the hill and past the parking structure before you can cross the street and back track to the tram). We ended up driving and parking at Mickey & Friends the second day.

I like the price @$59.00 a night - read a ton of reviews on a few different sites - biggest complaint was the carpet - but did read alot of compliments on the place for the price! Have read the walk varies from 7 min to 20. Either way not a huge deal for our family. We plan to be in the room to sleep at night and that is about it - just wanted to make sure no one had any horror stories - thanks!!

I stayed there in '04. It's probably changed since then. But we didn't even consider walking to the park because the road it's on is the ramp that goes to the Mickey and Friends parking structure. We drove because it was just more convenient than walking...

Our room was clean and had a refrigerator. Of course I always wear shoes or slippers in a hotel room...

My friends and I used to stay at the one on Katella years ago. It's cheap and clean and parking is free. Try to get a room at that one and walking is a no-brainer. It's about the same distance as walking the width of the park.

I just did a quick check, with a 3/7/11 checkin and 3/13/11 checkout and a room with 2 queen beds averages $46.18/night (plus taxes) at the Katella location. That's with a 15% discount for staying 3+ nights. Weeknights are $44.20, weekends, $50.15. That works out to $49.65/night for weeknights and $59.00/night on weekends without the discount.

I would not stay at this Super 8 ever again solely because of parking issues (if you will not have a car or you are going during a less busy time this obviously won't be a problem :) ) They do not have near enough spaces for the amount of rooms they have and we were triple parked one of the times we stayed there...there were also people parked in the fire lane. It was pretty nuts. The rooms were fine though.

We usually stay at the Super 8 on Katella. The only possible downside when comparing the two is the one on Katella does not have a microwave or fridge in the room. No parking problems however and the staff is friendly. It's probably about a 15-20 minute walk (depending on how fast you move :thumbsup2) Hope that helps!

I stayed there with my then-girlfriend-now-wife in February 2009. Great place for the price. We walked from there to the parking structure trams every day we went. Not a bad walk at all.

My only complaint was (maybe because we're from Australia) but the showers only have one 'tap/dial/control' and we could only get the water a bit above luke warm no matter which way we turned everything.

Other than that it was great value for money... The breakfast does get a bit old after a few days though.

We will not have a car as we will be flying in from Ohio. Saw that the one in Katella does not have a fridge and microwave. Plan on ordering some stuff to cut the cost of at least some meals so have the fridge is a huge plus.

Thanks! So far what everyone has said and what I have read it is sounding like a pretty decent place.

Like that price even better - but we really need the fridge.

We stayed there in May 09 and were very happy with it. The room was clean, everything worked right, internet connection was great. DH got warm donuts for breakfast so he was thrilled, lol.

The best part, to me, was that we could see the RDCT fireworks from our room. The last night we had left the parks before then because we had to be up and out early, and I was really bummed. Then we heard a huge bang, looked out the window, and low and behold we got to watch the fireworks after all. We just stood out in the hallway and watched the whole show. It was great, because we could see so much, but we were the only two out there so it was really nice. :lovestruc

The parking situation did leave a little to be desired, it's a small lot with a few weird angles. Also, when we went to check in, it was more expensive then the website had shown it would be, which hurt our budget a bit. So, maybe call and double check prices before you book.

We've stayed at the one on Katella twice. Both times we requested a refrigerator which i think was an extra $10? The first time we stayed there they told us when we checked in that even though we requested the fridge, we couldn't get it because someone else needed it to store medicine. The next year, we requested it but didn't expect to get one because of the fiasco the year before but they didn't seem to have any problem supplying us with one. In fact, we had one in our room and my MIL also got one for her room. So I'm not sure what the deal is with how many they have available but you might be able to get one in your room. Or you could try calling and asking about it.
