Sunterra Resorts Grand Beach vs. Embassy Vacation Resort at Grand Beach

OK what is the difference between these two. They both look the same and are located at the same place.

Anyone know what the differences are?

We are looking at a 2 bedroom at the Sunterra Resort Grand Beach.

One is the newer buildings - I think its the Sunterra section - but they are all in the same resort complex. They were just built in phases at different times and got different designations.

My understanding is Sunterra has a newer building (or buildings now) and the Embassy has the rest..the Embassy are straight 3 bedroom units where the Sunterra are lockouts so have 2 and 3 bedrooms (and maybe studio?)

Sunterra is the Newer Buildings, Embassy are older, but still nice and they are all dedicated 3 bedrooms. 2 Master Suites and one bedroom with twin beds. The Sunterra Section has a 3 bedroom also with 2 Master suites and one bedroom with Twins. Here is the Difference: The 2nd Master suite at Sunterra also has a small sitting area,a kitchenette and a separate entrance door. If you are getting a 2 bedroom, you would not have access to the separate 2nd Master Suite Lockoff. Both Sunterra and Embassy have very similar floor plans. I'd go back to either.. and I think these are DH favorites.. he still talks about our trips there.

I am glad to hear that everyone has good things to say about this property. There will only be myself, DH and our 12 year old daughter travelling so I think the 2 bedroom will have plenty of room. Is there alot of activities at this resort. My daughter sometimes can get a little bored if she does not have enough to keep her busy.

There were arts & Crafts and activities at the main pool, they were discussing construction on a new pool near the sunterra section when we were there. It may be done now. We had a great time at the Sundaes on Sunday... mmmm!There's fishing and I think paddle boats to rent. It's very nice!

This resort was bought out by Diamond Resorts and is being refurbished as I type. I love the place!

The Grand Beach resort is available on Ebay for $300 for the entire week in September. This is a 3 bdrm. unit that sleeps 8 .... great price!!
