sunscreen in carry-on?

If we take DME and arrive at 9:55 am at MCO, our room at OKW probably won't be ready. It's no problem to pack our bathing suits, but how do I pack sunscreen? I've never seen little bottles...does it have to be in original packaging?

They do make sunscreen in travel size 1 oz ones. They sell them at CVS or Target and probabably Walmart!!

I picked up a couple of 3 oz bottles of sunscreen (Hawaiian Tropic Oil Free Sensitive Skin 50spf) at Walmart before our trip to carry in our carry-on. I would definitely suggest keeping it in it's original container to prevent any delays at security.

It doesn't have to be in original packaging, but I'm sure you can find LOTS of sunscreen that is 3 oz. or less. We brought some to the Caribbean this week.

I saw a couple of different brands of sunscreen at Rite Aid that had a regular size bottle with a little detachable bottle to carry with you. I bought one so I can carry the small bottle to the parks in my bag in case we need to reapply.

All my toiletries are in mini containers, but none are original packaging. Ages ago I bought a package of mini bottles to fill with your own products. I didn't think it would be an issue. I probably could pack for a week in my carry on if I didn't worry about having enough sunblock-I burn to a crisp in only a few minutes. I suppose I could just put the sunblock into several 3 oz. containers....

You may well have trouble with those refillable bottles.

You don't need to use the original packaging, but instead of generic travel bottles, it's smarter to put the (in this case) sunscreen into emptied-and-cleaned travel size shampoo bottles or something.

Some TSA agents have nothing to do but be jerks.... these agents tend to get "rude" if your stuff is not labeled. (Like that proves ANYTHING????) Also, these agents are UNABLE to determine bottle sizes by looking at them (I mean by now they have only seen 10,000 3 oz bottles, but they can't determine if your's is 3 oz?) Once again lables help.

Chances are you won't get the jerk, but then again.....

I've gotten travel-size sunblock in the the health and beauty section (the aisle with all the travel-size stuff) of Wal-mart.

You could also just pay the extra money it costs to buy it from the resort gift shop or the parks.

My late mother was a longtime customer of NM for her makeup(La Prairie), her sales person used to load up her order with samples. Man I miss that, travel size everything plus those little mini mascaras!

To be honest I am leery of using those generic plastic bottles, I have been collecting 3 oz bottles and washing and reusing them. If anyone will get a TSA jerk, it will be me(had one make me pull out eldest's son BC because she didn't believe he was 10, he's really tall).

I found some sunscreen wipes at Toys R Us so there wouldn't be any issue about packing a bottle of anything liquid in my carryon

and, they are a bargain compared to what most places charge for the "travel" size.

We had the same issue... we were getting off the plane, going to check in, and heading directly to the parks. I found 1 oz. bottles of sunscreen at Target for $0.99 a piece. I just put one of those in my clear baggie and it was fine. We also only had a 2 hour flight so we put on sunscreen before we left the house and just kept the travel size as a backup. You should be able to find the smaller bottles pretty easily.

Here's another question? I'm hooked on the spray-on sunscreen. But, my smallest can is 6 oz. Are aresols allowed in carryons?

They are still considered a liquid, so they fall under the 3oz rule.
