Sunscreen available in or near the parks?

We are flying and don't want to check a bag ($$) just for sunscreen. I know sunscreen is subject to the 3-1-1 rule. Both my DS and I are ghostly white and not having it isn't an option. My youngest DS is allergic to Aloe and won't use anything but aerosol sunscreen, so we are limited on brands. My question is, does anyone know if Coppertone babies waterproof 50 SPF is available in the parks or at one of the hotel convenience stores? Grocery delivery isn't really an option since we wouldn't meet the minimum, and going to target is out as well. Thank you!

I have purchased a lot of sunscreen from Disney, and we have never purchased a Coppertone babies aerosol sunscreen from them. That sounds like something we would have bought if it was available.

When are you going? If it's not readily available around the parks (my guess is your best bet would be in the hotel gift shops where they have toiletry items) I could probably pick some up at target and drop it by with the receipt. Message me and we can set it up if you are interested....I'm usually at the parks 1-2 times a week, so as long as I'm not working I wouldn't mind doing that!

Or just purchase some before you leave and mail it to the hotel yourself. That way, you could include anything else you might need in the the package.

I know the Baby Care Centers have a couple of baby/kid sunscreen options, but I'm not sure they have spray at all, and you'll probably pay more than if you bought it off Amazon. Personally, I'd probably just do Amazon and have them send it to where we are staying (we have Amazon Prime).

Where are you staying? There are a few convenience stores within walking distance, 7-11, etc.

Wow thank you all for the replies! We are arriving Saturday the 24th in the morning. We are staying at PVI. Does anyone have experience with mailing things to them? I didn't think about amazon.

Veering from our Disney routine by walking as far as 7-11 (passing the parks) won't work, but a hotel or two down shouldn't cause as much issue. My DS5 does not deal with routine changes well and would have a severe melt down before ever going in the gates.

I was wondering about this also for our upcoming trip.

Why not just buy some then put 3.4 oz or less each into some empty little shampoo bottles or zip lock snack bags? That should satisfy the 3.4 oz rule.

My DS5 is special needs and won't allow me (causes huge meltdowns) to put sunscreen on him unless its an aerosol spray sunscreen.

The only way to send an aerosol can is by ground shipment. If you send it parcel post now, it probably won't make it by the 24th. I know that Banana Boat sells a travel size SPF 30 sunscreen. But I think the best option in this case is to either pay for a grocery delivery, pay to check a bag, or rent a car or use public transportation to go to Target, Walgreens, Von's, etc to get the specific brand that you need. You could also try contacting the hotel, explain your specific situation and see if they offer any suggestions. Maybe they know of another delivery service with a lower limit.

The TSA still counts it as a liquid.

It must be put in a checked bag. Annoying I know.

Legal, but depends on the type. If it's flammable it's possible, but only as part of the 1 quart bag of personal items that are carried on. And that would restrict it to under 100 ml per item. I've used flammable aerosol sunscreens. They're either ones containing alcohol or the mousse/foam types that use butane as a propellant. The can I'm using today is 5 oz, so I'm pretty sure it's not happening. I don't think it really matters to security (not all airports use TSA) if it's a pump spray or propelled with a propellant like pressurized nitrogen or even butane. But it would have to be small. I've bought spray cans of alcohol based sunscreens around 2 oz. I've also seen spray bottles of sunscreen around this size.

As a rule of thumb, aerosols that are personal, medicinal, and toilet items are those that are sprayed on your body. These can be carried on board (following TSA's 3-1-1 rule) or in checked baggage.

Other aerosols, if allowed, should be packed in checked baggage, regardless of size. The DOT regulations forbid flammable aerosols except in the personal, medicinal, and toilet items discussed above - you may not travel with other flammable aerosols in any baggage.

There are of course the non-flammable sunscreens in a spray can or bottle. I don't particular like the water based ones. The alcohol based ones tend to dry quickly while water based feels sticky for a while or even for hours until it's washed off.

We were in the parks earlier this week. Many of the shops carried a wide variety of brands and types sunscreen. I'm unable to recall if they had Waterbabies SPF 50 aerosol sunscreen but I know there were cans of aerosol sunscreen available.

Already had my tub of coconut oil confiscated some years ago by TSA.

I would still bring a travel size one for each of you so you have a backup in case it takes you a day to track down what you need.

You can get the coppertone babies in lotion in DL but not spray. The spray I bought their was an spf 30 coppertone active. But target is two miles south down harbor and im sure they will have it.

Many gift shops sell the aerosol Kids Coppertone Sunscreen. I just bought some a couple weeks ago from the Emporium in Main Street.
