We're staying three nights in June, the last night being Monday. Can we pay for conceierge on Monday night only, stay in the same room, and just also pay for the Sunrise Safari. The other perks aren't really important to us, just thought I'd ask.

You might want to call and ask, I would think it would be O.K. to stay in the same room.

Someone did post that they might start a minimum stay for the SS.

The safari is only offered on Sat. and Tues. I don't know if you could check out on Tuesday and still go or if you have to stay Tuesday night?

The safari is wonderful and you should try concierge --- once you have it you will never want to go without it.

Hi there...

I have heard rumours regarding a minimum stay - but nothing official so far.

I am with LvsTnk on this one.. best to call to see about upgrading your last night - but staying in the same room. They would have to issue you new room cards so that you have access to the elevator to get to thee lounge.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Okay, next question. I did call, and they said it would be possible to stay in the same room. But the upgrade to conceirge would be $150 at rack rate, maybe less with a code, and for our family the Sunrise Safari would be an additional 175. Is it really worth the $325 we would be paying for the Sunrise Safari. Is it that much better than the regular ride at the AK? I'm not cheap, just don't waste money either. This would pay for another night if we didn't go on the safari.

Hi again,

You know what - I also forgot to mention to you - that you need to have admission to the park as well.. so it will use up a day on your park pass to go on the safari sunrise.

To me - personally (just my opinion) it is worth it...

This safari is NOTHING like the regular 10 minute ride... it lasts about 45 minutes.. there are no gimmicks or music, creaky bridges or storylines.. it is a interesting look at DAK and you really do get up close and personal with the animals.. they are all just coming out for the day, so they are hungry and browsing for food.

It is a unique experience... also the breakfast that follows is excellent.

Don''t forget that with your concierge upgrade you can enjoy the lounge, have some nice snacks in the afternoon, stop by for a couple of drinks in the evening and relax with some chocolate covered strawberries and a slice of cheesecake,,, yumm

I would do it! You only live once remember - and it is a crazy world - enjoy what you can when you can.

Would you have to use a day on your pass if you were leaving immediately after the Sunrise Safari? We would be leaving for home on this day, right after. >>^..^<< I agree with your life philosophy:cool: , but $ after our 7 day cruise may not let me live all I'd like, or maybe I'll buy food on my credit card for 6 months. LOL!

Sorry to say - but yes - even if you were leaving the second the safari ended - you have to pay admission to the park for the day.

They check in the morning - you have to put your ticket, pass or whatever into a little envelope for the concierge staff and they check them all in the computer to make sure they are valid and process your entry then return them to you.

There was a couple of people who didn't have it on our safari and were a little annoyed (to say the least) made a little scene that they were never told about it and eventually did not go at all... but that was okay with the few people that were waiting standby - who wanted to go - made them extremely happy!

I don't want you putting food on VISA for 6 months after your trip LOL ... Try to think of it as just 1.00 a day.... for a yearl

Good Luck!
