Does anyone know anything about this area? I am going to book a hotel stay there for DHs trip to the Orange Bowl game in Miami.

It was really nice when I lived near there years ago. Not sure what it is like today!!

I have no idea. I don't think the stadium was there when I lived there.

My guess would be longer than 20 minutes to Dolphins stadium. Maybe 30, and longer with traffic. I am from Pembroke Pines, just south of Plantation, I can get to Dolphins stadium in about 15 minutes. If you see a hotel in Pem. Pines, it might be worth grabbing if you can get a good deal. All together, Sunrise/ Plantation will not be bad, and Sawgrass Mills is up there if you want to shop!

Do you by chance recommend a hotel in your area that might be reasonably priced?

I live in the area. It takes me about 15 minutes to get to Dolphins Stadium. If you stay in Plantation, it's super easy to get there. You hop on 595 east, get on Turnpike South and it drops you off right at the Stadium.

For hotels, I recommend:
Renaissance Plantation
Courtyard by Marriott in Plantation
Hyatt Place in Plantation

Let me know if you need any more help.

Do you know anything about the La Quinta in and Suites in Plantation or Sunrise? There are supposedly two of them right next to each other.

Haha, actually just drove right past that hotel tonight to get to dinner. It is in a nice area, sort of the "commerce" area of Plantation. It's right by a outdoor shopping plaza with many restaurants and the Broward Mall.

I don't have any personal experience with that hotel, but it doesn't look bad from the outside. And it's very convenient to the major highways.

Thanks for the input. The hotels that are together in Sunrise get pretty good reviews from the places I have checked. Are there really two of them right together?? They are listed as being on Northwest 2nd Street. Are we talking about the same place?

DS would probably love the business of the area. He is 22 and they will be there on New Year's Eve. Do you know if there would be anything to do for New Year's?

I was referring to the ones in Plantation, actually. I believe it's located on Peters Road.

There's a lot to do on New Years. They could go downtown, have a nice dinner on Las Olas, and then there are plenty of bars down there to spend the night.
