can someone help me? okay i just purchased a sunpass today and it was only used one time going over toll bridge as it wasn't activated the first time. when i called to check balance it said it was $22...the original balance was $25! :confused3 that's the normal toll...$3...i don't understand what the sunpass is for if i'm not going to save. is there something i'm missing? :confused3 :guilty: i've visited the site to see toll savings, but i don't understand what it means when it says Paid Transactions Per Transponder Required for Discount*
the next line will have some number whether it be 0 or 30 or 50 or what have you and then the next line shows the discount. what does that mean? oh i hope someone can help me? it's pointless for me to have this sunpass if i have to pay exact tolls so many times before i get a discount. i'm only going over this bridge exactly 7 times next month, 14 actually if you count to and from. :guilty:

Hmmm...good question. We're from Tampa and we got one because they raised some of the tolls and if you use the SunPass you pay the old toll (I believe). Places where they didn't raise it, we pay the same. That Could be the reason...?? :confused3

Sun Pass doesn't really promise discounts. It is to get you through without stopping. Yes there is a discount when you use it more but not much. I use it because I don't have to stop in line to pay.

That's why I have one too. I just want to get through the tolls faster.

We have EZ pass here and it really doesn't give you much break but I wouldn't care if I got NO break..just the ease of zipping right through the toll lines is the main point of it...

I hear you! I've actually got both in my car. When I moved to Florida I kept the EZPass. My husband still needs it because he's back and forth every month, and it costs me nothing to keep the transponder, and you never know.

Think of it as a fast pass - as you whip past the long line of cars waiting to pay.

Just that one time makes it valuable.

Here in IL we've had one for a number of years. At first there was no savings but it did get you through the lines faster. Now there is a savings in that they raised tolls for cash transactions but kept the old price for those with I-pass. In addition they are now opening up what they call open road tolling where you don't even have to slow down to go through. We just did it on Thanksgiving. Nice!

They are doing more open roads here in Orlando so you don't have to go through the toll booths. Much nicer.
