I apologize if these have been mentioned before.

The Sun Wheel has both stationary (like normal ferris wheels) cars, and cars that swing back and forth on tracks. Because of their novelty, most folks want the latter. Even though there are twice as many swinging as normal cars, the normal cars often go empty. BTW, the normal cars go higher and therefore have a better view. If you're willing to ride a normal car, just go in through the exit, and all the way at the back, there is a seperate (very short) line for the normal cars.

CM's will take your fastpass anytime after the return time. We asked about this at Soarin' when returned late and were told it was no problem. After that, we did it many times, and only once got a funny look (though still accepted).

OK, one more. If you want a slow enjoyable afternoon, maybe while the rest of your party runs around the park. At about 3:00 PM, head over to the winery area, and grab a table in the seating area across from the buildings under the semi circle awning. at about 3:15 Wine tasting starts. They come out with three samples, accopmanied by cheese. After the tasting, grab a refill for $250 and relax. At 4:30 turn around and enjoy the parade.
:(

Another tip about the Sun Wheel.... if you are prone to motion sickness, take the stationary cars and not the ones on the tracks. Trust me on this one.

I agree about the moving cars! The CM asked me how I enjoyed the ride when it was over and all I could do was glare and say "Get me out of this g*#d#4m thing!" I thought I was going to hurl. It's just Nasty.

The non-moving ones are no better when you are trapped with someone afraid of heights. My poor DH couldn't even enjoy the view, and I have to admit it was a bit too high for my comfort level.

Thanks for the tip on the stationary cars.. I tend to get a little motion sick so these would be good for me.. Is there a height restriction on this one?

Believe it or not, I've never been on a ferris wheel before.

How long does it take to load and unload this ride?

I'm not sure what the exact methodology is, but you go around two times, stopping several times for reloading of other cars. While you are stopped, however, the "swinging" cars tend to continue moving back and forth.

The cars are enclosed, there is no need for a height restriction. You are inside a 'cage' which feels quite safe and secure. The Wheel is very tall -- I remember watching as they were testing it from my room on the 11th floor at the (now) Paradise Pier, and it was at eye level. It is very high. How long it takes to load... a few minutes, and depending on the wait you may only get one full revolution without stopping. On slower days, they do turn a few more times.
