Hi

I am going to POFQ 18th December - 1St January :santa: and wondered if anyone had any tips as to which sun cream (brand and SPF) I will need for this time of year.

Thanks

Just subbing as we will be there at the same time so I'm interested in the answer . . . I wasn't going to bother with any to be honest as last winter was apparently pretty cool, so will be interesting to see if anyone who has been says otherwise (I so hope they do!!!):goodvibes

Been 5 times at that time of year and never used sun cream but it depends on your skin. we are here now in August car showed 100F today, still only used a little suncream to lay by pool today, don't use it for everyday in the parks.

We were there this year and it was chilly! Oh and minus figures some days! We took a factor 15 to use on the few days that is was hot, ithinknours was Tescos own brand stuff nothing fancy. It dies depend on your skin though, we always use nivea factor 40 on the kids when the sun was out :)

we had factor 50 one year in dec and i burnt with it, i have to say scottish skin and heat anywhere and i'll burn lolol did come back with a good winter tan..
( 16th dec-1st jan 2006)

they did close typhoon lagoon one day because the temp had drop to 19oc hahah the brits weren't amused :) thats our summer temp lol

We always go in December and some years I have had to put cream on DD's but other years not had to bother:confused3. Never use it on myself as I have the type of skin that dosnt burn.

Places like Walgreens, Publix and Walmarts sell Suncream so I usually dont bother taking it now and then just buy it over there if I need it:thumbsup2

When buying sun cream, don't worry so much about the SPF, but look at the UVA quality. On the back of the bottle there should be a circle with stars indicating how good it is at blocking UV rays which are harmful. 5 stars is best, personally I wouldn't buy one with less than 4 stars and I think Nivea only has 3 stars.
A high SPF mainly indicates how much a tan you'd get. With a low factor, you'd get more of a tan. But if your skin is prone to sun burn (blondes and redhead), then go for a higher factor. I get sunburn really easily, so I tend to go for a high factor.

That's right! I've just checked and it's not Nivea we've got it's Tesco's own kids one in a pink bottle and that is 5 star! Don't know why I had Nivea stuck in my head! :goodvibes

They sell P20 at the airport - we have found that to be great whatever time of year we go. Not cheap but it lasts a long time and you only need to apply once a day, even if you are going swimming.

You can get it in some shops over here now but much cheaper at the airport.

Thanks, I am hoping that I won't have to use too much sun cream as I hate how sticky I end up feeling - Even with the 'new' light versions I end up feeling 'grubby' after they have been on for a while. I can't wait till December now, I know I shouldn't wish time away but sat here with the rain pouring down, plus going back to work tomorrow makes me hope so excited for December 18th!

The weather is so variable make sure you take some! I went in January and it 30 degrees some days 15 on others!
