I should start by saying that I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, lived in Florida for 13 years and currently live in Houston. Still, when we vacation in the summer, we either go north, or to the beach. We have been to DL for Thanksgiving week and Spring Break (mid-March) and LOVED the weather. I'm curious though, how IS the weather during the summer months?

This may help:

"Detailed Weather Data for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158

For like 10 years we never encountered any really hot weather at DLR in the summer. One July we had to wear light sweaters a lot because it barely got to 75 degrees the entire trip.

The last few trips we have not been so lucky. Last summer I would have thought I was in Orlando the humidity was so high. The weather reporters commented on it being very unusual.

On average DLR had great and very manageable summer weather.

We've been going to Dland every summer for about 15 years. It is pretty warm (80-100 degrees are the highs) and can be humid sometimes (but not Florida humid). Typically we only use a sweater or sweatshirt for the first hour of the morning (7am-8am) and maybe the last two hours of the evening (10pm-midnight). Otherwise it is t-shirts and shorts all day with ample coverage from sunblock. Key is to be back at your hotel napping or in the pool during worst of midday heat (1pm-5pm).

Thank you for your replies! If the humidity is low enough that you don't faint while wearing a sweater (no matter how low the temps) then it sounds do-able to me.

It really depends on when in the summer.

June, usually very mild with lots of gloomy, overcast mornings and very cool evenings.

July, more sunny mornings and cloudless days with highs anywhere from the low 70's to mid 90's. Cool nights (mid 60's)

August-September, usually the warmest time of year. Highs routinely in the upper 80's-upper 90's. Sometimes windy, sometimes kind of muggy.

I’ve lived here my entire life. The humidity is miserable if you are coming from a dry climate, but it’s around 60ish% most of the time. It can get warm but our heat waves tend to be August/September. It can be chilly at night and early morning, we almost always have light sweaters with us if we are coming for rope drop or coming at night. Mid-day, t-shirt and shorts, I would be pretty uncomfortable in jeans in July.

August, it can get hot. Like 100 hot. But it usually still cools down at night. Nothing like Arizona where it’s 90 at night and 100 during the day.

June would be my pick though, june is almost always gorgeous. Chilly mornings, marine layer that burns off to a delightful 70-80 degrees and then cools right back down.

June does sound best temperature wise but we want to visit after the refurbishments for Pixar Pier and WoC are finished.

Lol, I mean it varies. Right now it is 87%, but it’s still morning. As the marine layer burns off it drops a little. In the heat of the afternoon I’d say 60 is pretty average, night and mornings 80-90

I've heard those cool cloudy mornings referred to as the "June gloom." It makes for comfortable touring, though.

Well, I’ve only lived in OC for 37 years ;-) I’ve got a handle on it lol
Yah, I was born in SoCal and lived there for my first 28 years. You might be surprised by how many people who live there discuss weather with numbers wildly different from what the collected and published data says. Then they try and say how the data is wrong LOL. When I read your post I said to myself "she sounds pretty spot on". So I checked and you were. :)

One of my most controversial posts here on DIS was that weather data post. Just when you think that no one can disagree what the past weather has been, you find out you are very wrong. :confused3

We don't live far from Houston and I think it's HUMID here. We were just in Disneyland last week. Shorts and tees with a hoodie for the evenings. The weather was a very pleasant surprise and very welcome. Don't get me wrong, it got plenty warm, but the evenings were simply amazing! Do NOT forget sunscreen. I saw so many folks with sunburn...so easy to prevent!

I have never gone to DLR that I did not need a sweater in the very early morning and in the evening.

Ha ha, and see I haven't used a sweater at DLR except for in December-February. :)

Everyone will feel the weather differently.
