We are taking the 5th wheel and staying at Fort Wilderness but are going to do Universal parks this year, we usually do Disney. We haven't been to Universal since Harry Potter has come in and we are use to Fast passes at Disney, so....what are summer wait times for rides. Any tips you can give us to minimize wait times? Since we won't be staying at a Disney hotel we won't have the fotl access.

Get to the entry to the park you start with at about 45 minutes before opening. Sometimes they open earlier than as stated. Hit the most popular rides first. Like forbidden journey and Spider-Man and hulk in IOA, in US, Rip RedRocket, Dispectable me, men in black, Simpsons, mummy. Eat either earlier or later than rush hour times. If you want to ride the water rides in IOA, then wear quick dri clothes and sandals or flip flops. You can keep a change of clothes in the lockers at the front of the park. They cost some money, but easier than walking the long way back to the massive parking garages.

Have a great time. Now that my kids are a tween and teen, USO is a must when we are in Orlando. And, if you are going late June or later, the new Transformers will be open. That would be a ride to hit first too, as it will be very popular.

Depends when in the summer you are going.Peak summer season can see waits of 60-90 mins at the peak of the day.Getting there well before rope drop and being ready to go will cut down any waiting tremendously.

Get there early and utilize single rider lines when you can.
