Summer Vacation For Southern California?

Does anyone know when the schools in California go back to school?

We are trying to plan a trip the DL before our kids start back the first week in September. DH doesn't really want to travel then, but we can't keep taking the kids out of school.

Every school system out here is different, and lots of kids (mine included) are in year-round schools.

For those on traditional calendars school usually starts right after Labor Day, the first week in September. If that's too late, try the last week in August. The year-round school kids start back in early August.

Thanks for the reply! DH wants to make sure they are in school when we go down. I think arriving 8/25 and staying for 3 nights will work out, although we were prefer to go in October or first week in December.
