Summer Trip - No Res yet, how difficult

I have 84 pts in holding and thought of maybe planning a quick summer trip with the wife - a long weekend maybe.

First - if I can get one before June, I may just book that. But during the summer - is it difficult to book?

I dont care where we stay (resort) - just a nice long weekend by the pool, and maybe a little golf if it is not blistering out. May not even hit the parks.

We booked a Sun-THurs stay for last August after returning from our Spring Break trip. One heat warning though --- it was HOT! We had never been in the summer months before and love "hanging by the pool". That was moderately refreshing but the water felt luke warm after about 5 minutes in the pool. We didn't even have the Florida afternoon shower. If you manage well in the heat go for it!

Try booking Old Key West. You can usually get in on shorter notice than some of the other resorts.

We just booked 7/26 - 7/31 at OKW. There was also availability at SSR. We frequently go in the summer but then we are from the Chicagoland area and it can be pretty humid here too.

Just do what ever you want to do in the early part of the day and plan for a "cool break" later on.

I'm not sure about the summer, the other posters covered that pretty well. I can tell you that "before June" is probably not an option. We tried to make a ressie last week for June and finally got down to "any studio anywhere for 4 consecutive nights). Nothing available.

And SSR will be easier to get into than OKW due to declared but unsold inventory.

I booked out 1 or 2 months out last summer to get the end of August. I got the weekend I wanted and after being on the waitlist for about 2 days the resort (BCV) that I wanted.

I have gone both in August and July. If you are going in July to just hang out at the resort and the pool that would be fine. I have to tell you, it's way too hot to do the parks in July. We went the end of August and it was not half as bad as July.
