Summer Travelers who midday break...

We usually never break because we always go in the cooler months...but last year we went in June and we definitely needed those breaks! We would be at the park at rope drop, ride as many things as we could without FP, then have a quick CS lunch at the park around 11:30 and be back at our resort by 1pm. We stayed there until 4pm. DH and DD would swim and I would nap. Make it back to the park with the latest hours (usually MK) by 5:00 and use our first two fast passes from 5-6, and then 6-7. We then would have a sit down dinner or CS around 7:00pm. If we were at MK, we would schedule our remaining fast pass for after dinner, usually around 9-10. Nothing better than riding BTMR during Wishes!

Thank you! Sounds a lot like what my plans will look like. I am waffling about the dinner ADR time. I do like your plan...so I am going back and forth between that and a 5 or 5:30 dinner (right when we return from our break) so later touring wouldn't be interrupted. But my boys would probably prefer to do a few rides before we eat. I was leaning toward the earlier time but now I am thinking this might work better, except in the case of our resort dinners! Thanks, again!

We are not big eaters in the morning ever, so we eat something very light in the morning and arrive for rope drop. We then typically take a break around noon. Sometimes it would be as early as 11-11:30 if we did EMH. A couple times lines were so short we stayed til 1 or 1:30 at the latest. We traveled end of Aug a couple times. It was so hot sometimes I just couldn't stand it anymore, thus a little earlier time leaving. We often ate lunch in the park early about 11, but once in awhile would wait until we arrived back at our hotel. Lunch was often quick service. We were usually hungry earlier because we didn't eat much for breakfast and lines are a lot shorter (and easier to find a seat) right at 11 than they are at noon or later. We would make our reservations for supper as close to 5 as possible. It worked well because one, they weren't usually running behind yet for ADRs (especially for places like Ohana's), and at 5 it was still pretty hot out. A sit down meal in the air conditioning was nice. We would be hungry at 5 because we ate lunch early, and usually after being cool for several hours either from napping in the air conditioning or swimming we would have more appetite at that time than after we were back out in the heat for a few hours again. By 6-6:30 it would just start feeling tolerable outside again! We watch all the nighttime shows, so while we are waiting for those and holding our spots we usually get the kids treats to help pass the time. With the early supper, their ready for a snack after dark then. We do usually try to do EMH when available in the really hot months only to get an extra hour in the slightly cooler weather. I don't mind the humidity in the summer (I know it bothers some people) but for me, it was the sun beating down on me that would do me in. So as early or late as possible for touring is what we tried for! Plus, if we were doing supper at a resort (Chef Mickey's then going to the MK for example) it seemed easier to eat first then go to the park than traveling to the park, stopping touring after 2 or 3 rides, then traveling to the restaurant, then traveling back to the park.

Great, thanks! This is very helpful and definitely one of the plans I had in mind.

This past June, we did mid day breaks - first time for this WDW commando.
Usually I like to go from PPO to close, but this was the first extended trip with our LO4...
We were at park opening or did pre park opening breakfasts every day.
Then either had lunch around 1 in the park and then back to AoA for pool and napss.
, or went back to AoA for lunch, pool, and naps.

Back at the parks around 4:30/5:30 ish.

We had a car, so it made travel easy and quick.
Except for MK, since the bus goes right to the park...not the TTC..

That seemed to work out will for my wife and LO with the heat,
but I missed being in the parks. On the last MK day, I stayed , while they went to rest and hit the pool... LOL!
