Summer Nights at Typhoon Lagoon

Typhoon Lagoon is supposively open 3 EMH hours after closing on Saturday when we are visiting. Has anyone done this? How is it limited to hotel guests? Are there any special evening activities?

we did it last Sept. Nothing special going on, they use the same system as in the other parks, show the room key and get a wristband. It was great in Sept, the place was empty, we didn't wait for anything.
