Spent a few hours at Disneyland yesterday. What a beautiful day! Got through Security on the Harbor side at 9:20, was in the Park by 9:30.
Pics below show crowd levels, castle (of course), some shop pics
and my break locations.
Edited to add: It really felt like old times at Disneyland, ya know what I mean? Beautiful Park with fresh flowers, festive summer crowds, characters out everywhere…all kinds of street entertainment. Happy times!
Oh! And if anyone is curious about what rides I accomplished in my short visit. Hyperspace mountain (so good!), Peter Pan, Storybook, Grand tour on the train, Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise. (Cool down break in Mr. Lincoln, to finish day)
Had lunch at Hungry Bear, always the mediocre cheeseburger.
I wanted to try the Honey Peach Tea Slush. OMGOSH, so good, I know this has gotten mixed reviews from social media foodies…but I don’t agree! Delicious amount of frozen peaches, tea flavor and a hint of honey. Several people stopped me and asked what it was, as it looked so good. Also, pro tip on mint juleps. If you just want a regular one, hop in line at French Market and go directly to beverage area. Much faster than beignet window outside.
Snacks: Took home a churro toffee and chocolate chip, chocolate dipped Mickey cookie for my hubby.
Souvenir purchase: Cutest little castle ring with crystal from Merlin’s shop in Fantasyland. Really friendly CM Amy told me more Fantasyland specific merch is coming for that store…Toad’s, Snow White. So fun!
A few thoughts on my visit:
1. It was warm, but not oppressive. It looked like general public was struggling with park stamina as a lot of people haven’t done this kind of walking in the heat and standing for a while. HYDRATE BEFORE you get to the parks and during your stay.
2. Shop in early in the day if you can. The merchants are out stocking shelves, it isn’t busy and stock levels are at their best. Many of the merchandise managers are out in the stores and can help answer specific merch questions you might have.
Bonus: it’s so nice and cool in the shops too.
3. There were plenty of Elliot the Dragon’s for sale when I left at 3:30. Main Street popcorn had just been replenished. Turtle was sold out at Jolly Holiday. Is he more popular?
Happy Summer!

Crowds on Main Street approx 940am

Oh hello. Gave me the stare down, as I took a water break at Alien Pizza Planet

Great relaxation station. Under Hungry Bear, all the way to the left of the restrooms. Sit next to the stream. Great shade and ambience.
