I love to talk about upcoming trips and I'm always looking for suggestions to stretch my dollars. I have booked a cruise for August with my nephew (37) and son (21). Dates are limited due to work and school schedules. We chose August 3 to the Bahamas on Carnival liberty. We will share a suite. I have been to Bahamas numerous times. My nephew has never cruised and wanted a short cruise to see how he likes it. My son will be 21 so we should have a good time, all of us being of age.
We will drive from Kentucky. I have a place to park at Park-n-Cruise. It's cheaper than parking in the terminal. We parked there several years ago on another cruise and it was fine. I looked at the drive and saw what I think is a good stop to spend the night prior to the cruise. Does anyone have experience with Flagler Beach? Is this a safe area? I found a Hampton for under $100. It is a few minutes from the beach so I thought we could find a fun place to have a late dinner there. The drive according to Google is about 12.5 hours, so we should arrive around 7:00 or so.
We will stop in Nassau where I have been many times. We will also stop at Princess Cays. Any suggestions for a great beach day are appreciated.
Coming home we plan to swing by Savannah. I hope to take the boys on the trolley. May stop for the overnight in Spartanburg. I found a Best western for a good price.
These are preliminary plans. Any suggestions are appreciated! Discounts, ideas for places to eat, anything>>>
