Summer Changes

I am planning a trip for Summer but am not firm on dates yet. Most likely during the last 2 weeks of July.
Any insight on important summer dates, ie. opening of ROA, end of MSEP, return of PTN, closings??

When Disney says something like "next Summer" or "this Spring" there is no firm date or month. "Spring" could mean something reopens in June, it just happens that way sometimes.

The D23 Expo is this July, which you may want to plan around. I expect the days around those dates would be busy.

The Parks Blog said that MSEP would run nightly from Jan 20th through June 18th. I suppose if the demand is high enough or PtN is not ready to return or any reason really, they could extend the dates for MSEP, but at this point, June 18th is the announced end date.

The last time the MSEP was "Glowing Away Forever," my DH and I were at Disneyland for what was supposed to be one of the last showings. To this day, that trip was the most crowded I've every seen Disneyland and that includes going over Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in more recent years. I think they actually ended up extending the parade for at least several weeks past that "last" weekend because of the high demand. So, I guess I am also a bit skeptical of whether it will actually end on 6/18. But if you really, really want to see it, don't take any chances and go before mid-June.
